i must admit, IMO a well looked after classic still looks the best of the bunch
i think i actually prefered my car ore when it looked like a v3 then the v6 as it is now
strange

So come on guys the bug eye might not be to your taste, so what, just remember that some people are quite proud of their "yuk" bug eyes. So have a bit of respect, as i would have for you.

classic looks shyt, but mean.
bugeye looks shyt and is heavy
blobeye looks ok ish but still heavy.
look at the events, theres only one major player in the blobeyes afaik in Haldor and team "ice", newage may be refined but thats not what we wanted in the scoobs.
If I wanted a refined ride I would have bought a new 330 diesel bimmer and burnt oil in comfort...

Dont get me wrong i love the car to bits and am not having a pop about them, but the build quality, squeaks and rattles do get to you some times (and the vibrating rear spoiler, and no i'm not a chav

Im on the verge of getting some sound proofing and lining some panels to stop unwanted noise/rattles. I currently have blutac in some outta the way places and know which panels i need to do

That said tho, this is probably the fasted and best handling car i could afford right now, so i suppose you cant have it every which way

Always loved the classics but as the name suggests, they look out dated now....
If you take the time to look at them, they do look old....You can get the best examples but come on, they've had their time....
I bought a bug eye and I still think it has that space-aged timeless look.....and for people changing to morettes, why? the clear crystal is soooooo much better.....

As they say in the trade "Before a car becomes a classic, it becomes cheap!" The implication -distasteful though it may be- is that any old pikey can buy it and as a result, it's image drops through the floor! That's what's happening to the classic scooby at the moment.
Wait till all the dross has been crashed/expired etc and there are only a few good un's left and I bet you people will pay handsomely for them.
They are still great cars, irrespective of the fact that the owner profile has taken a beating!
Will Subaru reprise the looks? Not a chance! Companies want to be seen to look forwards, not backwards.
Ns04 320bhp MY99 less than 30k on the clock and no intention of selling!!

Having just driven a brand new car while my 'classic' was in for a service I will say that the new car IS a better car in almost all respects, but it should be much much better not just a bit better (after six years of development etc) the only thing it is not is more fun to drive but frankly new cars are not more fun to drive in general, times move on, you could argue a Bugatti Type 25 is more fun to drive than an E type...etc
btw I will stick to my 'classic thanks!!!

I have yet to drive a new age so have no comment on that aspect.
I think they both classic and newage look great, pro's n cons. I love the rear end of the classic though.
Some times I walk up to my classic (my00) and it looks really dated. Yet other times I walk up to it and think it still holds it in the looks dept and isn't that dated.
Im a bit stuck in the 90's anyway so its all good!
Right, Im off to play my SNES and MarioKart.

Sad as it is, Ryu is the character from Shenmue - one of my fave games of all time.
I always get stumped thinking of user names!

I've owned a 94 wrx, a 98 sti and now a 01 jdm sti and reckon they are all great cars.
When I went from the 98 to the 01 I found it very different and it took me quite some time to get used to the extra gear, different turbo setup, extra weight etc etc. and I quite often thought back about the 98 sti but now I've had the 01 it a year there is no chance I will be going back to a classic. The 2 stis had the same mods, panel filter and a full decat exhaust so I reckon I am comparing like with like.
I'm with Tony on this, the newage is a much better car, although very different. I still like the looks of the classic cars but out of preference I would go for another newage than another classic.
The classic was a winner for subaru and will always have it's place in history but bringing them back would not be the answer, what Subaru need is something completely new. The Impreza would be a hard act to follow though.
