I think that is meant to be the best way to claim your money back - not sure though....

i also agree with what Luminous said. i have used Paypal to get money back, admittedly only a tenner but was done within a couple of hours. their limit though is 500 notes so be aware.

considering we are a community, online or otherwise, i am sure none of us would tolerate this piece shti living in our real life street blatantly taking the p*ss...what is stopping a car load of lads going up and putting some pressure on him that he wont mistake for anything other than him having to pay up or face the very real consequences that only our wonderful health care system could solve. or his work life could be seriously fooked up and just maybe his welfare benefits that he is most undoubtedly claiming could backfire on him....there are ways and means.

i am not the sort of person who would turn to violence as a first resort but this guy must be a bloody millionaire by all the accounts i have read of him stitching people up on various jap car forums...the strength of the law is not our side chaps. anyone ever seen "Rogue Traders" and the like on the box? people end up doing it for years and trading standards are powerless. what alternative is there?

We won a small claims court case against him, that he failed to meet.

We tried to take it further, but unfortunately due to the different laws in Scotland/England the police aren't willing to do anything.

He later surfaced in Derbyshire as a "Carlos de Souza" doing a Diamond scan, then the last I heard, was he was given 200 hours community service for pleading guilty to 6 charges of obtaining money by deception, including taking a deposit of £3900 for a BMW X5 advertised on ebay (this was a 10% deposit)
He was also charged and convicted of trademark fraud (using a BMW logo on a receipt) the convictions also included a couple of £300 nintendo Wii sales on ebay which never materialised, and also a £25.01 conviction for paintball supplies.

It appears that this guy is a habitual criminal and makes his living out of scamming.
Does anybody have his current address?

It has resurfaced because the guy in question is still scamming people.
It might be good to have his various names and aliases along with his current address.
When I came across this specimen he was using the name Officially Pimped on the board and his name at the time was Caltrini. He was living in Warrington. It would appear he has had several other names since, I am not sure of his current aliases but if someone has his most recent details it would assist in giving him a wide berth.

I'm truly amazed that these people still walk the streets after stitching so many people up ........ I couldn't sleep if I had been shafted, until I had closure.

Thanks for that Ken. I am surprised that after about five years he is still pulling these stunts. Someone contacted me last week with a tale of woe but were not prepared to give his lockuup address where I believe their car was at the time.

My guess is he's making a good living off it, and has been lucky so far about being caught.

He does not owe me any money so I do not have the insentive to make a personal visit but if his address can be verified maybe a club in his area will organise a drive out via his location. 30 Scoobs turning up will not impress the neighbours.
What I really would like to know is why the police have not taken action. Has nobody documented their experience properly and then been persistent with plod?

When I tried I was told it was a civil matter, rather than a criminal one.

They pointed me to the small claims court in Warrington, who in turn pointed me to the sherrifs court in Scotland, who then told me (after the action) that they couldn't enforce the claim as he was in England. Contacted an English lawyer but by then the cost were starting to mount up, with little chance of recovery.

the problem is these people will keep doing it until the day they get a real good kickin imo

the police are next to useless due to it being civil complete joke its the same as robbing or burglary or bank robbery imo

the courts are even worse

the only way imo is to sort it your self with the use of violence or he will never stop !!!!!!

scamming is a very easy way of making lots of money with next to no comebacks.!!!!

It _is_ a criminal offence if he has deliberately made misleading statements with an intent to dishonestly obtain property (definition of "fraud"). The police just can't be arsed so fob people off.
