PS..

The latest development of the Twin Scroll system has produced 37.5 BHP increase (at the wheels) without a remap and literally no other modifications from standard.. something which again is aparently quite good .

Again.. peak horse power means nothing.. but the graph really is stunning.

To give you an idea. (again - no mapping, no mods)

Measure Scoobysport Standard
Peak Boost@ 2900 3400
Peak Torque@ 3200 4000
Peak Torque(Nm) 438 408

Torque does not then drop below even the PEAK torque of the standard car until 5600, at which point the scoobysport sytem shows 408 (obviously! ) and the standard show 367.

I will scan the graphs in at some point and publish.

All the best

Simon

PS. Should point out.. this is the full de-cat system, as we haven't yet started work on the twin scroll performance cat system.

Is the turbo standard? or at least the exit mouth?

We have found that our new 2.5" design actually flows and performs better than any 3" systems we've tested with, and certainly improves turbo response.

Regarding whether we would publish the full rev range. Absolutely. The peak horse power figure is a nice easy way to market a product, but as most people on here realise, the true performance benefit comes from the torque curve, rather than the peak, and turbo response on the open road, rather than a flat throttle on a rolling road.

If your turbo is standard, or at least has standard fittings, I'd be happy to look into testing it with you. Let me know, as it would be interesting to see.

If the turbo is non-standard, it may mean a very big development job to get it all working correctly, but you never know.

Cheers

Simon

We have been saying this for years since we designed the orginal exhaust,it all about gas speed and big isn't always the best.

As for the catted down pipe against a de-catted down pipe ........the high flow 100 cell road legal cat that we have been using for the past few years has a 2 bhp drop over a de-catted down pipe as tested by knowles of Xtreme Scoobies at Engine Advantages.

This is a very popular and competitively priced conversion due to the hassle of changing the cats / de-cats about at MOT time.

It was tested on a 2.5 litre 300 BHP model and would work just as well on your 400 + .There are some pictures on the web .......... which is in the progress of having on line buying added to it.
