ditto all the above just a shame the switch on my NOS moved to turn itself off within 500 rpm, but what a 500 rpm!!!

Floyd i take it back.....i think your right about nitrous on turbo cars....given that the car without gas was making a peak of only 285.5/285lbft @ about 6000rpm (apparenly the exhaust is too restrictive...) for the brief second the NOS was on it shot up to 315/360lbft @ about 4krpm!!!!!

crazy stuff.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask whilst I was there. There was a chap running a dark blue 1998 Impreza Turbo Wagon with full decat who ran 255bhp? I just wondered if there were any other mods on the car? My 1998 Impreza Turbo ran 241bhp with full decat and ind kit and just wanted to know what exhaust he was running to make the difference? Saying that I know all the cars vary from stock anyway. Either that or it was my pesky ind kit!!

Spec'c'57,
I was waiting for that response..... (reel em in and all that )

But do you know what mod's mine was running and setup with yesterday though? lol AND I was running less boost than you! Looks like I was just as standard as you were when I ran yesterday (in fact worse off than standard as you are running more boost than me).

Regards,
Shaun.

Hi Mark

Thanks for the up dated list, is there any chance of adding the type of car and possibly the mods so that comparisons are easier?

Cheers

Sounds like a good day.

Floyd: Did the car manage to hold the same boost on the rollers as it does on the road?

Neilo: What happened on the NOS run? I would expect a 45bhp jet to produce a fair bit more on a turbo'd car due to the cooling effect.

Well done all

Spec'c'57,
31degs on my print out (lol - so you cant use that one).

I havent spent 10 weeks on and off testing stuff mate for no reason.

All the car ran on Saturday which was different then standard was a specific exhaust system, an induction mod (not talking about cone induction kit though, even though this has been tested at some point). The map was based on the map your car has, but tweaked and running less boost then you are running. I have already had 362bhp, but that was with other simple changes not present on the car on Sunday and running a near identical map to yours (same boost targets).

With the present configuration (bar a couple of odd's and sod's) and increased boost targets (above what you presently run), the end result should be pleasing.

As it stands, with the addition of a specific exhaust system, a specific air filter mod & lower boost settings these figures are really good regardless.

The most important factor about the power, is it's delivery to aid or improve spool up and driveability. Peak figures in isolation mean diddly squat and over laying my varying stages of tests against what other cars have made at the same establishment that I use for the testing further highlights that (in my favour of course )

Just as another comparison for me, is there any chance you could email me your graph (the one that shows bhp and torque) from WRC tech? It would be interesting to possibly stick this in the article I am going to do for comparison.

Regards,
Shaun.
