Actually Concorde didn't exist....I never actually saw Concorde break the sound barrier or heard it...In fact I never saw Concorde. The fact that it could be faster than anything we have now is a dead giveaway. The government pretended they slowed it down to avoid noise pollution.
The passengers who 'claimed' to have travelled on Concorde were actually drugged by the free Champagne and the Air Hostesses then travelled around the plane resetting watches to give the impression that they had crossed the Atlantic quicker than they had.
Pit ponies never existed either. Some seams of coal were only 12 inches deep. Imagine a horse that could go from the pit face dragging coal away. They'd have had to be about 8 inches high.
If I haven't seen it happen it can't have happened...simple really cos I'm a F"""wit

As for the "Why haven't we put men on Mars yet?" question. One major factor is the length of time it would take to get there and back. 3 years IIRC. Apart from the whole logistical problem of oxygen/water/food etc for that length of time, I suspect that finding a sane astronaut prepared to spend 3 years in a tiny space capsule is a challenge. Mars is a very long way away for the record. The Moon is next door in comparison. ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
As I asked a few pages ago, what happened to the Japanese mission that was supposed to prove/disprove the whole "man on the moon" thing?
