The saddest thing has happened to you and your wife, Alex. Please accept my condolences and take care of each other. I'm sure you'll find the right words to say.

Thanks to everyone who has posted on here or PM'd me.
I've passed on your comments to Milly.

I find it impossible to put into words how we both feel right now.

We are lucky enough to have a great resting place for Rowan, which will remain in the family for many years to come. He will never be forgotten.

Thanks again, Alex

Dr Evil..

I'm not sure we've ever crossed each others paths, but my heartfelt sympathies to both you & your wife.

LG.
There is a star I see at night...
The shine is eternal and it is so bright.
I pray you see this star too,
and think of me, thinking of you.

No matter how far apart we may be,
this star we can always see.
You are in my heart for all eternity,
the starlight in my eyes that never dies.

I'll never forget you...
The star I see at night.

I can't even begin to imagine what you and your wife are going through right now. Be strong for each other, grieve together and hope that your love will bring you through this time.

Unhappy

I've only just caught this thread. My deepest sympathies to you and your partner at your loss. I have a child myself and this news makes one just go numb and cold in the pit of one's stomach.

I can't help on the poem front, however I hope you and your family find the strength to go through this.

Once again my deepest sympathies.

Its all been said before, but I just want to add my sincere wishes for you. I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loss.

There is no wise or clever thing that can be said, so I won't try.

Warmest regards

Thanks Simon, David and all.

There really isn't much that can be said in this situation, we have been very unlucky.

We are planting a tree in memory of him, and will never forget him.

Thanks again for all the kind words, Alex

PS. David you have a PM - thanks mate.

Found this:

Remember me when I am gone away,
gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
you tell me of the future that you planned;
Only remember me; you understand
it will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet, if you should forget me for a while
and afterwards, remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
a vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
better by far you should forget and smile
than that you should remember and be sad.

It must be so hard for you both....but everyone here is praying for you.

And this one too:

THIS ONE IS VERY EMOTIONAL

If Only

Wallow in my deep despair
Wonder how, why, when, and where?
How much would I give
If only He had let you live?

Drive past your little grave
Nothing more left to save
No drawings taped to the fridge
No thing this gap can ever bridge

Miss you more each passing day
If only He had let you stay
Medicate with drug or drink
If only not to have to think

Of things we'll never share
Like the first cutting of your hair
First bath in the tub
First owie to have to rub

First step, first run,
First new day in the sun
First love, first kiss
These things we’ll have to miss

Like a knife, it cuts me deeply
Things others take so cheaply
"Not now, I haven't the time..."
If only He had made you mine

We'd treasure each and every minute
Each day, and all the hours in it

Joan that really is an emotional one. I actually welled up reading that. I'm gonna show the missus in a min and I can gurantee she will cry to it.

It really is a lovely reading. I have read about 5 times now.

<soppy mode off>

Well done Joan

Dr Evil..

I noticed on one of your earlier posts your babys name, Rowan. You probably already know this, but there is a type of tree called a Rowan which as you mentioned planting a memorial tree, I thought this might be fitting..

I found a link which tells you a little more about it..

I didn't post yesterday on this thread when I first read it because I was too scared to. I had (and still have) absolutely no idea what you, your wife and the rest of your family are going through. I left it until now because it gave me a lot to think about as I lay awake in bed last night. I cried for you, it made me realise we too have a lot to lose, and if it ever did happen how devastated we would be.

What you are going through is truly sad; please know that our thoughts are with you.

Alex

No good with words for you at the moment. My sister in law went through exactly the same a few years ago. Will say a few prayers at Church housegroup tonight for Rowan and the rest of the family.
