Peter, I like you am also very very old, if you realy are interested in insurance, with your age and background you might try Warrick Davis (sp) I did on an grossly overmodified Subaru. The Lady who I spent nearly half an hour giving the details to, actually understood what I was saying (even if I didn't) and the quote from them was 1k less than the rest, I say the rest but only one other company would quote at all

I believe this is the case if you have made any kind of claim during the first 6 months, if not you will be re-imbursed pro-rata.

Only a phone call will tell.

I insured my MY05 WRX with Privilege last month for £600 with protected full no claims. When i called them to register my change of number plate, i casually asked him how much my premium would go up if i added a prodrive backbox, with a maximum 5% power increase.

An extra £120 a year plus an extra 100 onto my excess, replied the chap.

GTF, said I.

I only wanted to stick a £40 second-hand backbox on it to make it sound better. Erseholes.

Pete, I would agree with Adam above, in that you will be able to claim back your remaining 6 months if you cancel your policy. I have done this myself, with Tesco, very recently, who would not insure my newly acquired MY05 WRX, unless it was fitted with a Tracker (which I didn`t want).

I went to A-plan instead, and have spoken with them only this week about the possibility of adding PPP, or modding with a back-box, air filter, and/or re-map.
I have been assured by them that either option will only increase my premium by approx. £70 for the remainder of the year (until next April), and will probably be an additional £100 for the year, next time around.

I am a very experienced, skillful driver and they assume that I 'may' at some time want to show the kiddies a thing or two about proper driving .... so add a little more!

Oh, yes, and I've got Fully Comp. as my car is still worth a bit ...... you are ok with 3rd Party Only as your cars value is under £2k.

Insurance is not yet mandatory for pedal cars you know.

Yes my price is also comprehensive.

Well, with just over half the mileage of yours my, ok, 99 I know, must be worth a tad more, especially as the transmission oil has been checked every week.

Insured with Tesco. Type R LTD import. £480 Phoned them to say changing the exhaust and they asked how much more BHP. I replyed none so was told no charge. Even sent me a new policy stating sports exhaust.
The engine went pop so I stopped the policy told them the car would be on the road in about another month but they insisted on sending me the money for the remaining 6 months I had left on the policy.

Maybe pslewis spams his insurance company as much as he trolls here, so they're just using it as an excuse to ditch him?

Oh well, guess you`ll be leaving it standard then Pete, because you`re not going to get around the insurance thing, not unless you don`t bother telling them, but then there`s no point being insured anyway.

I am insured with Liverpool & Victoria - through Frizzell.

THATS JUST GREAT! Just when I am considering dipping my toe into the muddy mod. waters!!

Funny, most people see it as an excellent quality, being able to change ones opinions

Clearly your mind isn't able to swap its connections (in true Chav style) - Thats s shame, it means you will never reach your peak - forever spending a life in negativity and loss

Its only a secondhand backbox I want .............. not a full PPP

To my mind I might not like the louder noise, I might not like the attraction it causes, I might not like all the w4nker hand signals I would be entitled to, I might not like the drone at cruising speeds .................

So, yes, I can wait until December before changing insurers and fitting the backbox ....

LOL @ Pete's quote.

Youngster roughly half his age, with less points than Pete admitedly ( ) full MY99 Turbo with PPP + other performance enhancing modifications all declared - £485 fully comp

I think you're getting ripped off...

I fancy one ........

However, I might not like everyone calling me a w4nker .....

So, a secondhand Backbox for £50 would let me see if I like it or not ......

I'm not about to pay big money - do I LOOK foookin' stoooopid??

And I've got plenty to do - remind me why you post on my every thread again??

Do you REALLY think that my 9 points have that much affect??

I didn't think they really bothered with them until they reached 12?
