WTF? What on earth provoked that uncalled for attack on Oilman?

As for being spam... You don't have to read it! It wasn't personally addressed to any one. It was obviously given a thread title to attract peoples attention - there is nothing at all wrong with that.

Oilman pays (too much IMO) to be allowed to promote his products on here and it's because of people like him and the SN Plus members that this board can continue to exist.

Shame on you.

I am unsure on what attack you mean (to my knowledge, I have not attacked him merely said why I think this post has attracted some unwanted comments)

You are right, I do not have to read it, I wouldnt have if I knew what to expect from the thread title! IMHO I think that the thread title was wrong for an advertisment post.

As for paying too much - I suppose that is all relative - I am sure he is probably being put in touch with a huge number of people without the costs of publishing adverts if he is making more profit than the advertising costs, then that is good business no? - if he posted up the deals he offers with relevant thread titles, he would probably be in touch with a lot more people (and would bypass attracting the wrong comments) - I would certainly not have read this thread if it was appropriately titled - if I was looking for oil deals however, I would not have opened a post with the title as this one expecting to find any deals!

In a way, yes, but had the thread title been something more suitable, I wouldnt have even read it, let alone posted on it, can you see my point?

I can kinda see your point mate.

But to be honest, I think your reasons for this thread, "whether it be the thread itself , the heading of the thread, or the fact that he use's the word 'Service' " p1ssing you off to the point of arguing over the course of 2 days is just strange...

I cant see what was wrong with the heading?! If when you selected it, it turned out to be not what you are after then simply select Back at the top of your screen. You dont have to get anoyed about it, and belive you were miss led, surely it didn't waist that much of your time?

Im clearly confused over the meaning of the word "Service" cause in my world, if someone is selling something, "What ever it may be" That person is providing a "Service" to those that are buying from them. if a business sold you a part, their providing you with a service....Let me know if im wrong.

Cheers Shimy.

Either that, or the people that have taken him up on his offer are to grown up to waist their time posting.

I can see why it has bothered you so much, cause you've waisted a hell of a lot of time on this thread already when this thread isnt even about something that interest's you...

Didnt think it was 2 days - but could be wrong - I have not been arguing - merely stating what I think is the reason for the abuse he received!

Then me and you differ my friend! I just got a bee in my bonnet about it as that kinda thing gets on my t!ts!

Im clearly confused over the meaning of the word "Service" cause in my world, if someone is selling something, "What ever it may be" That person is providing a "Service" to those that are buying from them. if a business sold you a part, their providing you with a service....Let me know if im wrong.
Fair enough, again we differ here, a service (to me) would be something like conveyancing by a solicitor, or insurance etc!

Also - I personally would rather listen to the guys tuning engines on what oils to use, as I would be VERY surprised if the oil companies test the oil in engines matching the relatively high state of tune a lot of the member's cars are in - in fact on another scoob forum, I think Simons Reign lasted for about a day!

As mentioned - if you can get good prices for oil from Simon, then great - hell, if I couldn't get trade prices myself, I would go with him if he was cheaper than anywhere else!

Anyways - I am now off on me hols - so you can swear about me all you want

Simon; being an authorised advertiser doesnt entitle you to start threads shamelessly promoting yourself in the community forums, so the 'spam' accusation is quite justified.

I am now closing this thread, since I suspect it is causing negative vibes.

Whether or not Oilman should of posted this in general needs to be discussed off-line between myself and Oilman, but to be quite honest (regardless) a witch hunt is not warranted and uncalled for. Can I also please ask that not everyone who has commented on this thread takes that personally.... but if the cap fits.

Regards,
Shaun.
