Theres no way of stopping it in situations like this though, artists will do as they please and unless the programs aired 10mins behind or something they cant edit it out either. not a big deal in my opinion enough to be that bothered about.
if anyone was listening to kiss100 bam bam breakfast the other morning there was a few f-words on there, well funny

Luckily my kids were inteligent enough not to bother with the crap that was on TV tonight and got on with other things.
I had to endure the last hour of it - overhyped crap that it was, seeing lots of fat overweight 40+ year olds peforming. The ones that had to swear might have big bank accounts, but I'll live my life happy that I dont need to swear to impress and have a slightly larger range of words than this lot

So how would "Subliminal Mindfúck America" have sounded? Bowdlerised rock 'n' roll.... Thank fúck some people are on the edge of society and moving it forward, not getting wound up by people saying naughty words on TV.
I didn't see you starting a complaint thread about that complete disgrace of a thread where people were competing to post the worst video atrocity last week, Alan.

You would thing that as people grew up, that deeds rather than a limted and pond life vocabulary to show how big they are would be better, but I guess we will see then with their wife beaters on before long

You hear far worse in a brickie's cabin and you don't predict the downfall of society from that! I remember when my Dad threatened me with virtual excommunication if I ever brought a Sex Pistols record into the house! Nearly every guitar-based band nowadays owes their very existence to the punk/new wave movement.

lol - You lot make me laugh!!!!
You moan about people swearing on TV, but then you let it happen on here on a regular basis? But of course minors dont get access to this BBS at all do they!!!
Shall we ban swearing completely on here (this could be a good un)
I have to say that perhaps swearing is a sign of the times. Perhaps things are changing...... I mean look, unless people are moaning they are not happy are they...... it didnt used to be like that in the 1960's!
Regards,
Shaun.

I'm not AGAINST swearing. I could argue that a well placed expletive, such as the one from Bob's in the original Live Aid concert, will drill home a point more forcibly than any flowered up language.
Shock tactics such as showing dying, starving and emaciated kids resulted in what we saw yesterday.. All well placed, natural and acceptable in my view...
But using any language like that 'just for effect', at a show like that, is crass and does show lack of imagination....
Green Day's Track is one of my Favourites and the use of strong language is part of their appeal.. but you can bet your life that it's well thought out and placed for impact.. not effect..
I missed the 'Worst video...' thread but again, getting away from the complex politics, I'm sure that if you want to drum up revulsion and hatred for terrorists, then show Ken Bigley's murder...
If you want to show it for entertainment? Do me a favour, as this sinks to inhuman depths....

I'm totally against swearing before the watershed
My African Grey likes to watch the TV, but I make sure I switch off before 9pm to make sure he doesn't learn any naughty words
Come today at Sunday Lunch my gran was saying hello to Nelson, and was greeted with "shut da f**k up ******, this is the snoop d, o, double ***** f**king G y'all"

No need for public bad language.
Lots of youngsters watching. I imagine the people who have knocked the content of this thread DON'T have young children.
Madonna should know better. Or does she swear in front of her kids? Hmmm would REALLY like to know the answer to THAT one. Little Lourdes and Rocco must come out with some choice stuff with a MOM like that.
Swearing is a universal sign of low intelligence. Yes we all do it at times of stress or frustration or upset. Its a release in those circumstances. But I don't think any of those performing last night were any of the above. No need.

Actually, my son's(six years old) favourite band is Green Day and you would be hard pushed to find six songs without swear words. He understands that it is not acceptable at most times, but I will not shield it from him. He understands swearwords are not acceptable and you can bet that when in private, all his freinds, and he, swear like troopers.

I know Snoop swears in his songs and you can't change that, but they could have put groups like that on after the watershed.
Same with people getting interviewed and that, before 9:30 was not very nice to be swearing. There are young kids watching, trying to take in a bit of history and it was spoiled by that.
I don't have kids and I do swear, a lot but there is a time and a place for it

What planet are you on to think that swearing is not the normal everyday language that kids are familiar with?
If it's acceptable within YOUR home then so be it
If you choose to teach your kids that it can be offensive to SOME people...equally, so be it.
Don't get sanctimonious about the use of common every day swear words which, nowadays, form part of our language.
Listen to yourself and THEN pass judgement. Are you so pure??

I really don't have a problem with swearing at all. Sometimes the f word is necessary to give oomph to what you're saying. I thought it quite suited Snoop and as everyone knows, in America, everyone is a muvverphukker
I quite like the C word too, it's so substantial and final - long live swearing
