Scoobychick,
never been on the warplane forum - full of weirdo's
my job tends to get me into some weird situations sometimes, hanging out with the reds, walking about on nuclear boats, sitting on tanks and howitzers - the usual run-of-the-mill stuff..!

Latest info is that Sally B will fly this weekend. The insurance company and a few others have got together to give an extension to the existing cover for three months ..... to cover the flypast and a few airshows.
After that .........

"The new EU regulation on third party insurance introduced on the 1st May, classed Sally B in the same category as an airliner. The annual premium increased by £1,000 extra per flying hour."

Unlike most Warbirds (and airliners! ) Sally B is still fully operational so it's still capable of dropping bombs...I'd be planning the route to Brussels if I could fly it!

Yep ... Dead Sparrows went right over here at approx. 11.45 yesterday. Makes you proud to be a Brit when you see them. Think they were heading home to Scrampton.

There is nothing like the sound of a Tornado taking off a few hundred yards from where you're stood, I swear it is the finest sound and feeling known to mankind when the afterburners come on at full chat. Awesome things

Havent seen much in recent years but my parents live in Bude, Cornwall and many a time when visiting you would see/hear low flying F15's using the GCHQ Morwenstow dishes as practice targets.
You could feel the windows rattle. Awesome sight.
Also used to get the sonic boom as Concorde went supersonic until they made them wait a few extra miles off the coast.
Simon.

They go over us several times a week out to the bombing ranges in the Wash..... noisy sods they are , but as they pass overhead I always think..... there they go, practising to keep us safe. Envy them sometimes because they appear to be having such fun !
