All regs collected. Just need to divvy up the connections now ready for posting on Monday. Will try and get yours dropped in by your house Russ - may be going in to the cinema tonight anyway.

I wasn't cursing you Carle.... oh no!
I'm told the correct NPTF fittings will be in tomorrow lunchtime so all those who want a gauge adaptor - your regs will be mailed Wednesday.
Chris, Jeff, Andy, Peter, David, Russ and Matt - your regulators were all mailed Royal Mail First Class Recorded Delivery today. You should expect them tomorrow if not Wednesday as i am in the sticks up here. Paulo yours went airmail today also.

Guys, looks as though a section of the gauge adaptor is a day away if it's even available at all. I will send out the remainder of the kits out tomorrow with the plugs. Carle, i'll send yours in parallel guise as originally specified.

Absolutely all regs now mailed out. They should all be with you by the weekend. Thanks to those of you who have confirmed receipt so far.
Had a nightmare getting correctly threaded fittings to go from the SX port to a fuel gauge. Supplier initially sold me sufficient adaptors to get to a gauge fitting before i read the receipt and found he'd sold me BSPP fittings. Not NPT and not even tapered. Got the catalogue and figured out the correct way to do it only to be told one of the parts required isn't manufactured anymore. Plus this would have left the gauge hanging about three feet away from the regulator. Decided at that point that tapping blanks is the neatest and easiest way to do it...
Anyone who wants one mail me back the blank i've sent you with a SAE (3x first class stamps) and i'll tap it and mail it back.
Every cloud has a silver lining however and along the way i've found resources to be able to modify gorgeous aluminium fittings into exact fitting push-fit kits for the SX.
PS: Dad wants an external Walbro for his kit car. Anyone else want an internal one with Impreza fitting kit for circa £65?

Arrived this morning, Carl, thanks very much Postie rang the door bell at 7:30 which amused the missus no end!! They really are a nicely made piece of kit aren't they? Is the thread on the FSE gauges 1/8 NPT? I tried the blanking plug from my FSE in a standard Subaru oil pressure switch adaptor which I thought was 1/8 NPT and it wouldn't fit I might get mine drilled and tapped locally to save any bother (if I can find somebody with the correct taps)

They are gorgeous, an absolute bargain for the money in my opinion. Those who ordered black got the best buy in my opinion, looks much better all in black than with the bare aluminium base.
Ray, the thread on the FSE gauge should be 1/8" NPT. I know at least some (if not all) of the Impreza threads have a pitch of 1.25mm so not NPT. Can't say for certain whether the oil pressure adaptor is one of these or not although i wouldn't be surprised.
I have the correct tap on it's way to me so will be practising doing the blanks this weekend. Is by far the easiest way to do it IMO although i'm going to have to have a Wallis-style crack at drilling one of my regs direct.
Good idea Neil for deleteing names rather than cluttering the list up.

Ii'm going to have to have a Wallis-style crack at drilling one of my regs direct.
Sooner you than me, mate...I'd be worried in case I scratched it, apart from anything else
The only reason that I thought the thread on the oil pressure adaptor was NPT was beacause I used one to fit my Defi oil temp sensor which I thought was NPT. Oh well, I'm getting old, you know.....

Good point, i think i did exactly the same thing with mine. **** knows then, hard to say as i don't have any FSE bits here to measure. The Sytec reg is certainly advertised on the FSE site as 1/8"NPT.
I'm confused when you say oil pressure adaptor? You mean the one that comes with the Defis?

Defi stuff is NOT NPT, this is National Pitch Thread (UK STUFF). The Jap stuff ie 1/8 PT which does not really have a chamfer on it.
Best to tap it with a 1/8 NPT tap Carl ( should have asked me M8, I've got one in the garage you could have borrowed).
Russell
ps - are you talking about tapping out the body of the SX Reg for fitting the gauge to it like the 15404 model?

Yeah, dug out my Defi gear last night and it's 'PT'. A bit of delving later and it's interchangeable with BSPT stuff so a 55 degree thread angle rather than the 60 of NPT. NPT is American btw (National = America, P = pipe), BSPP/BSPT (British Standard Parallel Pipe and British Standard Pipe Taper) is british. Can you tell i've been doing loads of reading-up on this lately?
Dad has one i could have borrowed too but rather than borrow stuff i'm trying to kit out my own garage right now. Aye, drilling into the reg. It's going to be a fun weekend once the DIY is done.

Got mine a few days ago Carl, started a new job and have limited internet access, did you get the gauge adaptor for me as only got the reg and 3 screw in push fittings?
I can send one of them back if needed?
Cheers Carle.

Carle, gauge adaptors proved to be too much of a pest to order so i will be tapping blanks for those who require them. Send back one of your unions and push-fit adaptors along with a SAE (3x first class stamps) and i'll mail you a tapped blank.

Hi Carl
Haven't been on line for a couple of days but the gauge adaptor that I was talking about is the one that the oil pressure warning light sender screws into underneath the alternator and that is also used in place of the blanking plug above No3 cylinder to take an oil temp gauge sender.
Anyway, I got my plug drilled and, of course, it is NPT. I fitted the regulator yesterday and it's fine. Pressure is held after switching off and there have been no fluctuations so far that I can tell. My FSE was rising rate and the car is fine with the linear rate of the SX ie no lights on knock link, afr is fine etc just as AndyF said it would. The only thing that's buggin' me is that my gauge needs another 1/4 turn to make it sit correctly with the rubber plug at the top and I can't get it but I reckon I'll survive with it like that
Haven't been on line for a couple of days but the gauge adaptor that I was talking about is the one that the oil pressure warning light sender screws into underneath the alternator and that is also used in place of the blanking plug above No3 cylinder to take an oil temp gauge sender.
Anyway, I got my plug drilled and, of course, it is NPT. I fitted the regulator yesterday and it's fine.
