Your idea Mr Reskew seems to be to rook everyone as far as you can with no thought whatsoever of fair trading. You seem to believe that that taking advantage of people who have suffered serious fear and even injury, and who through no fault of their own are stuck and in great need is the only way to go and a great opportunity.
From your last post it also appears that you think drug dealing and making money hand over fist from the damage and life threatening effect that has on peoples' lives is also fair game.
I really don't believe that you were taught that sort of behaviour at school even with the PC school teachers we have these days who don't subscribe to educating pupils in a decent way of life any more, and who believe that discipline is not necessary these days.
Your extremely selfish way of thinking and "end justifies the means" attitude will lead to a society which is ungovernable and the world would become a really nasty place.
Absolute greed such as you are displaying is a first step to a society which is totally uncaring and is nothing to be proud of.

Leslie- where did I say drug dealing was ok? If you want to pick holes in what I've said at least pay attention to it.

Guys,
I think you are kicking Mr Reskew unfairly here, almost a case of shoot the messenger rather than deal with the message. What we have both been saying, in our very different ways/styles,
is that good moral values, ethical business practice, and making money don't always go hand in glove. We think they do, think they must, but in practice that is not always the case.
If it was we would not be seeing eg the protests against globalisation, and all that means for poor countries not being able to have a fair crack at the market because of unfair trading practices. There would not be a need for Sir Geldoff to entreat world leaders to do something about debt relief for poorer countries because, if we go by what some are saying on here, our basic humanity and ethical values that you say are part of business life should have seen something done about that situation eons ago. The fact that we are where we are speaks volumes for the opposite position being true.
Taking the stories of profiteering hoteliers at face value, I too wish that they had not jumped at the opportunity to make a fast buck or profiteer from a desperate situation. However the fact is that there are people who will always do this, no matter how much it offends your values.
We either change this attitude or we live with it. Not sure how we change it as greed is a part of everyday life, so we have to live with it.
Giving Aaron Reskew a kicking isn't going to change a damned thing.

You should have read your own post and made it clear what you really meant.
The unacceptable face of capitalism, such as you advocate, is at least as bad as totalitarian government. Nothing wrong in making a fair profit and being trustworthy in the way trading is done. Extremism is bad in any respect and will eventually lead to the downfall of any form of a decent way of life for the majority.
In time, and with a bit of maturity, you may even come to realise that for yourself.
