There are more suitable forums for posting questions such as these and I'm not surprised at some of the replies - I'm sure you didn't expect a Dear Dedrie reply from everyone either.
Heavy petting (now there's a term!) can cause pregnancy. However, if you didn't ejaculate it's probable that there was no considerable collection of live sperm present therefore lowering the odds of an accidental pregnancy.

i can remeber doing the same when i was a young lad and litteraly my nuts ached so bad after I couldn't ride the bike home! PMSL at it now but jeez i felt like a primed hand grenade!
