Moses, I must admit I am not the most devout of Sikhs ie drink and smoked(up until two months ago) and when not married sowed my oats. As far as I know there is no provision for more than one wife. Marraige is seen as a ONE to ONE
You must be the only man in the world who has never 'knocked one out'. Apart from me of course...

I have just watched the whole program. What was lacking was decent Management on the ward. The staff had no direction whatsoever so were left to their own devices which unfortunately were very limited indeed.
That particular ward was overspent by 108000 so had to clamp the purse shut - why then are the government giving billions to Africa when our own patrons are more deserving?
Im a staunch supporter of our NHS - it is marred by a lack of staff, lack of moral and lack of stiff management.
I think I am going to become a nurse... I'll whip those fekkers into shape!

We are told that there are so many managers in the NHS Trusts now that it is almost one to one with the people at the sharp end. Typical Parkinsons Law-in spades! No wonder there is so little money spent in the places where it is really needed in the NHS.
In common with most management situations to do with NL, it looks as though incompetence rules with a vengeance.
Of course personalities change with age, some for the better too of course. Totally unfair to infer that all elderly people act like spoilt children. Alzheimers is a different matter of course and looking after someone with that problem is very demanding as we know only too well in my family. Nevertheless it has to be done and it takes a special kind of person with the patience of Job and total unselfishness to do it.
I find just as many people act like spoilt kids right through the age groups anyway!
Before you decry elderly people too much, you would do well to remember that we are all heading in that direction and when you get that far you will expect and deserve help and respect from others just as much.

I hate watching programs like that. It makes me want to put the world to rights. Not achievable by any means but why don't the likes of those in power think the same way. I bet their parents aren't put in wards like that to be ignored till their death breath - then, as they die, suddenly the nurse appears and fusses around pulling curtains like they care (well, in that program anyway). I know it's not indicative of all nursing care in every hospital but I bet there is a bit of it going on everywhere.
What I found a little annoying was the lack of visitors for the poor people - where were their families? At home on the blower complaining that the care wasn't good enough? Take them home and care for them then. I would have no hesitation in taking my Dad on to care for him, after all, they care for us for so much longer than is necessary and most of the time we don't give that care back when they need us the most. Shame on us.
