Launch Control is another stupid difficult thing to get right. You cant just say any difference in wheel speed Front to Rear and retard the power slightly. So you might think to get round this have a sensor that measures front fork extension. But for some riders the perfect launch has the front wheel hanging 2" above the tarmac. Its very very complicated.
Aero has been used in bikes for a few years now. And as with F1 makes leaps every year. However, on a car the aero is fundamentally uniform corner for corner. Whereas on a bike the whole thing is laid over in the corners. And if you have super slippery shapes (stopit

Theres loads more. But I'll leave it you to find on the internet. Heres some suggestions though. Look up "Frame stiffness vs Flex" and "Why the Yam has a reverse rotation crankshaft"
Bikes are far more different that cars when it comes to what makes a good race version.

Thanks for the info rr ww, very interesting and I did not know how far they had got into using the clever stuff. Better buy a magazine again! They never seem to mention much about that on the commentaries.
Yes I can't see how they could get too much out of wings given the different angles involved etc and also don't think there would be much of an advantage with automatic gear changing. Always wondered why they bothered with those little winglets on the ZX12R. Probably to catch the customer!
Like most of us I am sure, I really enjoy the spectacle of the back wheel sliding in the high speed corners and would find it disappointing if that was stopped with some kind of computerised system on the 'bikes. I used to enjoy laying it over on roundabouts and coming out with the front wheel tapping the ground as well. I suppose the Yam won't do that then
Used to try to avoid the high siders though!
Yes I can understand that setting a 'bike up is very different to a car of course. Never ridden one on racing tyres either, I would imagine the difference is at least as much as it was on cars. It was amazing what you could do in a car on the right set of tyres. The flex bit is worth looking up too. The less flex I built into a car the better it handled every time.
