Do I like cossies? I like them the same as I have respect for all well looked after performance cars (if they are well looked after of course). Would I buy one? probably not as the technology is too old. If they brought out a new one it might be a differnet story.

Would have loved a Saph.
Only two things put me off - they are getting on a bit (I seem to be unlucky with 2nd hand cars...) and the dash in the Sierras is showing its age, sadly.
Still think a white Sapphire looks the dogs, personally

I've just changed from a saph cossie to a wrx, still love the cossie's and would love to have an escos next, but chose the scoob for reliability and looks! lol! Doesn't quite have the aggression of the cossie though, and until I get a new exhaust i'm missing the roar of the cos

Have always loved the original Sierra Cosworth, especially the RS500 version. And I wouldn't say no to either the Sapphire or Escort cossies, if they were in mint, original condition.
As for the owners - I'm sure they're no better or worse than Scooby owners! The cars seem to be considerably rarer than Scoobies though.

My 2wd saff was more fun than the scoob. It was mad drifting everywhere! But the scoob wins hands down on looks and sound, the women love them.
I would have though alot of cossie owners would have moved to scoobs but not the other way around....

I loved the Escort Cossie. It was THE affordable performance car in its time and paved the way for the Scoobies and Evos in the UK market IMHO. I still think they look great and would love a go in one. I think the mindset of my cossie owners is similar to owners of good classic examples of scoobies too i.e cherish them.

Both me and my other half have had RS's. I've recently got rid of my RS2K to get the scooby, and hes had a couple of cossies. Hes now got a scoob too!
The Escort cossie is the nicest cossie of them all imo.
We used to go to the local RS meet and shows and everyone made you welcome, but as soon as we got the Scoobs, some of them just turned into ignorant t**ts and didn't want to know.
But I suppose that theres people like that everywhere you go.
Oh, and by the way, scoobys were called 'the poor mans cossie' Yeah right!!!
I prefer my scooby any day!!

The fastest I've ever been was in a Saph Cossie, 130mph on the Great Baddow by-pass towards Chelmsford.
I wasn't driving at the time officer!
It was a good day as we were coming back from a Lotus factory tour where we saw several Lotus Carltons

got to say i have total respect for cosworth enthsiasts.
I was looking for a escort when i bought my sti but my brother oferd me his sti so i bought that instead.
i sill would like a cos 1 day as they never seem to age but the scoobs and evo age sudenly.
cosies might be cheep 2 tune but they need a lot of cash 2 keep on the road the scoob on the other hand is not all that expensive to run and you can tune them and they will still be reliable
where as after tuning a cos you will always wonder when the pistons will fly through the block

Without the Cosworths would there be the Impreza and Evos we now drive? We have a lot to thank messrs Costin and Duckworth for. They also had hands in so many other great cars Merc Cosworth and Audi Rs to name two.

Jap v Jap, the Scoob has beaten the Evo since 2003.
Now back to the thread
If its a looked after cossie without the chav, then yes they are stunning but if its a run down heap then no, but that goes for most performance cars anyway.

I worship the cossy if i could afford it i would sell my scoob and buy one, it dosent matter what car you get you allways get slated by some one, its usually people that are jealous and drive round in heaps of crap, when i got my scoob they all said they prefered the evo it is much better bot if i got the evo they would all say they liked scoobys better, you cant win, but it dosent matter what other people think its what makes me happy
