I had a RWD saphire Cosworth 10 years ago and loved it, with a stage 1 chip it had about 260 hp, oversteer heaven

I reckon it was faster than my classic with PPP (except through the twisties)

Used to dream of owning a Escort Cossie and liked the 2 door Sierras but opted for the Scooby as you could buy them new at the time I was ready to own one. Like any cherished Cossie/Evo/Impreza

Speaking as a cossie owner i see you scooby drivers as other enthusiasts although you do get the odd couple who don't like being beaten in a race.

My weapon of choice 335 bhp of pleasure

Does anyone else think that it's a bit weird to refer to your car a 'a weapon'

a car only becomes a weapon when its in the wrong hands.

A bit like referring to a car as a "fantastic tool"

You're on form today!!!

As for someone asking if there would be an Impreza WRX today without the Cossies I would say yes but not in series production maybe.

It was all to do with racing regulations at the time that manufacturers had to make a certain number of road cars before they could compete in races/rallies. Hence the '500' in RS500.

Lecture over.

Thanks for replying but it was a rhetorical question. Certain cars laid the foundation for others to follow. Would we have had the Cossie without the Quattro or Integrale? (Also rhetorical).

Hi
I wish i could say that the Scoob would receive such respect on Passion Ford but I think it would get a hard time. If I wanted an everyday car I would prefer a Scoob to a Cossie, as its now getting older & showing it.

Still love the Sapphire in white.

Yes, got my 05 WRX from them last month. Good to deal with, in and out within a day leaving my old motor for part ex!
Have good close look at the RS Focuses if thats what your after, some not as pristine as they say.

[quote=Jon(m600bhp)(lots of scoobs doing 10/11 sec qtrs) [/quote]

even some doing mid 9`s now

but i always fancied a cossie as well (the escort) and was really close to buying one at one point but i bought the scoob instead , definatly nothing chavy about them m8 i would say the scoobs have got a more chavy reputation im afraid to say

Cheers, going up again Tue to see what sort of P/X deal they can offer. TBH not 100% sure if I am going to change all depends on the deal and what they have in.

Default Right Arm

I would give my right arm for any type of cossie brand new (except the Scorpio) however if your looking for the cheapest cossie in the world...these wouldn't be far off the top of the list

I've got 2 escort cossy's and I have had no reliability issues with them tbh.
Jon can't spell 'cause he's northern. Us southern cossy owners don't have that problem

Would have put my name down for a focus rs if they were 4wd.... shame the cossie has been well and truely killed off

Escorts and 3drs still look lovely, need a bit of work to make them right though. They dont look very good standard.
