This has been done and the std road car did not fall to bits (but it wasn't a proper rally stage). It went like this................
There are a couple of rally brothers called Higgins (who you may have heard of !) who just happen to have their own rally school in the welsh forests. On this stage they run Escort RS2000's........Now they have a friend by the name of Burns a Mr R Burns to be precise.......A few years back Mr Burns turned up for a visit in his non-prepped company Impreza and after watching for a few minutes placed a wager with the lads that his company car would be faster around the stage than their rally-prepped RS2000.......
The outcome?
4 Subaru punctures But it didn't drop to bits or breakdown

But this particular stage at "Forest Expereience" is very non damaging in terms of roughness, we use it as a "fast test" stage. No jumps, no bad pot holes etc.
Just sharp Welsh slate about.

Not that relevent but, i did a rally day a few years back in Golf GTi's. They all had Spax adjustable suspention which i was told lasted less than 6 months before needing replacing. Imagine how long a standard car would last.
Kind of puts it into perspective.

Well, at least I got the Group A right........................
Nice piece of kit..........
Never been lucky enough to get in the Prodrive Workshop other than in WRC service and there's no time for a really good look and of course you don't get under the skin.
Nice to see they remove the roof like we do !!!!!!!
