schreeches around the corner!

I use a small stanley knife at work for boxes etc, I had mine on my belt by mistake when i popped into a friends bbq on Saturday night. one young lad spotted it and said "hey mate that's one ov them new stanley blades innit" it is a new quick release type, "yes" says me "yeah cos all the bad men use them now they cut you then just drop the blade on the floor so there is no DNA"

What is the world coming to?

everything surrounding is a weapon

like if u wear a scarf or have a cloth and u can carry a bar of soap or a bag of change and wrap it up in a cloth and swing it and use it as a black jack and aim for the temple of the head or chin and best thing is, if u punch an aggressor in their throat, u will paralyse him and u can even hit him hard between his chest when it isnt expecting

or best with full force break their shin or kick their knee so hard and when he bends down smash his jaw and face with your knee

but i do agree when u see danger all that goes out the window, anything u can do to save yourself, i say do it

moses, sometimes you scare me. Actually, make that quite often.

How often do you find yourself in situations where a knife would even be required? I find not going to dens of iniquity quite useful in avoiding trouble.

I generally walk about with my keys jutting out between my fingers / fist, if out at night . I doubt they would really stop someone intent on causing me great harm but I'd hope I'd at least manage to scar them or put the odd eye out if pushed. Everyone has to carry keys after all.

We know why. It's because they are cowards, hooligans and a disgrace to society.

I do much the same - I need one for both opening boxes etc, and for doing rigging and things along those lines. The one I generally carry is around a 2.5" lock blade, which I do need for work. Whether I take it off my person at the end of the day is a different matter though... I tend to keep it on me, mostly so I don't lose it

I've had similar thoughts re. the till - I think I'd prefer a good sized chunk of wood tbh, as I'd think if you don't know exactly what you're doing with a knife in such a situation, it'll tend to work against you perhaps?

chip do u really have to post rubbish questions like that

simply reg either he is new or hiding behind another nick, he made a comment about the other lads being cowards, no one is a coward and i do agree knife carriers r but sometimes circumstances force u to, to defend yourself so u cant call all of them cowards

lol simply reg u responded in a respectful manner and even called me " my friend" , so im sorry, i took your post to be a disrespectful one so sorry about calling u the c;unt word, its the national glaswegian word either fanny or c;unt i prefer to use the c word more often

so i apologise

and also i should have responded maybe in a better manner, see the last few yrs alot of guys have changed their name and hide behind another nick to insult people i thought u woz one of them, so when u replied in a civilized manner u proved me wrong, so accept my apologies

cheers

I wouldn't carry a knife - simply because I don't want to be stuck myself. I always have daymares about being attacked, pulling out a weapon, and having that weapon turned on me.

Besides, I'm a flighter not a fighter I don't believe violence is the answer to any problem - I would rather walk away (unless it's words, then I'm up for a verbal fight LOL).

I'd prefer to belt 'em one then sprint for it, as I'm confident that I can run faster than most druggies, pissheads and other such people who might consider a fight

I wouldn't carry a knife around because I think as far as self defence goes, they are pretty useless unless you are particularly skilled.

Two guys pulled a knife on me and my girlfriend a couple of years back in London. Luckily for all of us they backed off after refused to give up my wallet, but if had got close enough to cut me, he'd have been close enough to recieve a good hook!

I sometimes carry knives becuase if one of my chefs is on holliday or sick or for any other reason I have to work in the kitchen for the night I use my own knife set. All good chefs have their own knife set and at 500-600 pounds for a good set they don't like to leave them out of site or lying around for other people to use.

I carry a knife and would be prepared to use it..............to open boxes at work

Its only a couple of inches long but sometimes forget to take it out of my pocket

But on the subject of actually carrying a knife then its a definate no as there are plenty of other things you can use for a weapon inc you feet or fists

Obviously you are stupid enough not to have realised that I was referring to your repeated use of a particular word for which there is absolutaly no need.

Why do you have to use it all the time. Don't you have a very wide vocabulary or are you just a bit of a prat.
