DALES RUN 2

A quality day - been back about 45 minutes.
My first experience of, erm, pushing on in a MY01 - thanks to Michael (aka Slider) and Carl for the ride and laughs.
Big thanks to Mr & Mrs Craft for the excellent route - so good we drove it again the other way from the pub along with Mellow Yellow and Michelle in Mellow's lurrrvely P1.
Michelle - was my pleasure
Looking forward to the Staffs meet on the 17th.
ChrisB.

Just a repeat of earlier statements really.
Thanks to Mr & Mrs Craft for the hard work and overcoming F & M issues. Really enjoyed the day despite the restriction on revs due to running in
Special thanks go to MT for leading me (astray)and ensuring I didn't need to exceed 3,000 rpm, then breaking so early I could read the dealers Belgian Telephone number BTW you don't need to lose Mellow, he can get lost all on his own, (and so can I)!
Unfortunately, have only been back about an hour as I left my "shades" at the pub and had to do the run again to find may way back to it .....Dales u are now the official chairman of the Subaru Society & if that's what the landlord says it's good enough for me!
Thanks to everyone we met for the friendly reception and making us feel part of the crowd. That excludes Chris cos Shirley came back with a shopping list that starts with a Momo gear *** and ends with a brake upgrade via 18" Gold Wheels.
Oh and an apology.
Mr Mellow, Sir, I accept that, despite the fact I was woken at 5.00 am yesterday travelled through the perilous West Country and did not return until after midnight, & was subsequently dragged from my slumber at 7 am this moring. I did not adequately wax and polish my equipment to ensure the requsite standard was achieved.
Once again thanks to veryone involved.

Really needs waxing tonight but I think they'll call for the men in white coats.
MW after that carvery is it now Mellow Wallow?

Just a big thankyou to Craft (Graham) and Heather, spectacular scenery, a great pub to finish with excellent food. Hpoe you've forgiven me for the overtaking manoevre but that beemer was taking the biscuit, plus bl**dy Michelle was egging me on calling me a wus !
Michael,.... AKA, slider, compass, GPS, etc..a great run back m8, lift off's, power slides, etc..mint ! you handled that MY01 very well....for a novice still needs dropping, suspension and wheels though !
Banshi, no excuses m8,your new car was filthy as a punishment go straight to Beechdale and get a set of 18" then ring Motec and order a full Scorpion system...and dont do it again !
Chris, nice to meet you, bet you can't wait to be joining the runs with your own eh ? just keep it away from bl**dy Michelle
Michelle............what to say....well nothing really, I couldn't stop you chattering away 10 to the dozen all the way up and all the way back , winding me up, goading me on with the Lotus 7 man, coach, cars, bikes, blind bends, dissapearing humpbacks, tractors, michael's MY01, more cars.....need I go on ? that aside, good company, know your stuff, can't wait to passenger with you and return the FAVOUR ? I hope heather doesn't post that piccie of you between my legs looking for that MINT.....funny, never heard it called that before .
Good to meet lots of other people too, it's what the bbs is all about and makes it very worthwhile.
Simon, I'll be in touch regards the Lakes, good luck at you interview this week, keep us posted.

Highlight of the day...
Mellow walking into the pub and telling the barman we were the Skoda Favrite Owners Club out for a run. Barman started asking questions about them.
I was almost crying with laughter.

Just managed to get on the bbs - I'd just like to add my thanks to Mr & Mrs Craft for organising the day. Shame I couldn't stay longer afterwards and eat and chat with you guys, but babbysitting beckoned
Mellow - next time you want to try and get past a std turbo pick on someone else - no matter how much I polish I can't get your registration imprint off my back bumper - pick on someone your own size (or bhp)next time!!!
Looking forward to the next one

Craft,
Top route, thoroughly enjoyed the day as did my passenger. This was the first time i really got the car wound up. Thanks to the bus driver for pulling over and letting us past was able to have some real fun on that long downhill section trying to keep up with Mr.01my.
Did anyone else go airborne over that last hump back bridge

Not sure if it was a bridge, but Dales and I were about 2ft airbourne half way up the Settle to Hawes road
Remember going over the crest, then seeing the road drop, and both of us shouting "oh darned" or words to that effect. I weigh circa 17 stone and it managed to lift me out of the seat
banshi, mellow, cheers for the encouragement chaps for the interview - fingers crossed

I don't think it was just the downhill section having smelt the pads / disks cooking nicely later as well!
Thanks again for the ride.

To Mr & Mrs Craft
Sorry for the delay in posting a reply, seems I am one of the last to get in, will use work commitments as an excuse.
Anyway, what more can I say that everyone else hasn't already mentioned. For myself and Kate, this was our first outing and it was every bit as enjoyable as what I thought it would be. The non-documented hump in the road, well, I had the Corse and the DBM MY00 scoob in front of me so I managed to get down to 80mph, still got airborne though and nearly lost the HKS box, don't think mine was quite as spectacular as the Corse (pocket rocked on drag racer wheels) leaving his engine/gearbox manufacters stamp imprinted on the road.
Having fallen in love with Mellow Yellows wheels on the day, I have been fortunate enough to get a set gold P1 wheels (17" though). Put them on last night and the motor looks excellent. Need to get the Prodrive suspension on now and the damn thing lowered. (Hump back bridge road providing).
Again thanks for a great day out, look forward to them next one, will try and do the camping weekend but work commitments may prevail!!
See you all soon
Simon & Kate

sorry to say i'm the last one in.been away most of the week and not had web access. cheers for the route and booking some good weather.dont know which bit was the best, getting to the start or the run itself. told my lotus chuffer that you drove steady.....oops!
so who wants to swap their scoob for a go kart? i had to hitch a ride home as my ears started bleeding. dont know if the lotus club does scenic tours of yorkshire but my man seemed to enjoy himself.
roll on the next one.
