My partner and i went out for pizza a month ago at a new restaurant on Leith Walk. Explaining that we were both vegetarians, i ordered a pizza with sweetcorn and pineapple - which he said was no problem. Different waiter brought our food to the table and i got pineapple, sweetcorn and ham. So i explained that there must be a mistake as i ordered without ham and that i was a vegetarian. Waiter comes back a minute later apologising that he had picked up the wrong one. in fact he had picked the ham off the pizza, but accidentally left a huge chunk at the bottom. I told him that he had just picked the ham off( did he think i wouldn't taste it?) and sent it back. Manager comes along apologising for his waiter and that he was really sorry and i could have anything free of charge. However there was no way i was going to eat anything they were serving, so i politely refused. My partner was half way through his meal and stated if i wasn't eating neither would he and we should just leave. I wanted him to finish his, but he insisited that we left. Next thing the first waiter comes back with a new pizza and insists that i eat it - which i felt that i had to. I only had a couple of bites and when my partner had finished his we left and just paid for his meal. Whilst they apologised over and over it is really bad practice to do that to someone who doesn't eat meat.
