At least you remembered the silent E

But personally I'd prefer the dyslexia confined the the name and the content corrected to make it marginally understandable.

And ...with the notable exception of those Scousers & Mellow there is little I've seen u wont drool at Little Miss B&B. And I hear the emphasis is not on the breakfast.

It's very well practiced that look!

I'm probably working on the 4th, so sounds like a good way to unwind.

Of course you can have a ride Michelle (That is if the wife will get out of the driver's seat!)
Jon GT 3 is quite addictive especially with the steering wheel, however he is still just as quick with a double fracture of his left arm (Yep the opposite one to last time - what are we going to do with him!!)

Mush,

You have horses too!!! Excellent, I used to have horses, mainly Welsh Cob section Ds.....

As for a faster 4 door, hmm, without going to an import like an STI........I am not too sure........I don't know if anyone can shed any more light on this......try in General Questions.

Michelle (WRX1994)

Yes this probably will be confusing!

I didn't realise there was another 'Michelle' until I'd registered. I was going to change mine to 'Mush', which is my alternative name (!), but couldn't work out how to change it. It may be less confusing then!

At the moment I have a standard, 2ltr, 5 door, silver, 55k miles Impreza. This is the first one I have had & I love it. I am looking to change it at the moment though and get something a little faster etc!

I am hoping to get some advice from someone as to what to get though as I've had a look and there seem to be loads of different special editions & it's a bit confusing (as well! - No, I'm not normally easily confused in case anyone's wondering!"). It has to be a 5 door though because I have dogs & horses and the car ends up acting as a kennel, stable, mobile tack room & vets surgery sometimes!

Anyway, I'm going to Harewood and will maybe see some other cars which may help me decide.

Mush

Hi Mush,

You could always get a 5 door WRX import 98/99/00 model, you can pick one up with around 280bhp if you are lucky. I have to admit there is better variance in the four doors......I know someone in Scotland who has a very swift 5 door so I will have a chat to him about it see if he can help you at all.

Michelle

Having a few problems with my computer - you may have noticed!

My horse is a TB mare and my other half has a Hanoverian X Shire. I do like Cob types though - they're usually fun to ride.

Thanks for your help with the info on 5dr's.

Just an idea...

For those local to Leeds/Bradford...how does meeting at the Old Ball Pub carpark in Horsforth early Sun am...quick drive locally...then off to Harewood to view the runners and watch the fun and games...

Time to be arranged...

We could arrange to meet others at various places locally...so those from Harrogate could be met in Harewood....just after the lights on Harewood Avenue (on the way to Collingham??)

Just an idea...comments appreciated and accepted..

Cheers

With being new & not having met anyone before it would be good to meet up somewhere.

If some are going to meet up in Harewood or Collingham, then would it be possible to join you there?

Please advise where and what time.

How early? I could do with following someone otherwise by the time I get there all the action will be over.

Was planning on following Mellow but thats no guarantee we'd arrive in the right place.

Looking good for me to come up.

I'll be coming past Banshi Towers and Mellow Mansions I think.

How early for a Sunday?

Should be allright following Mellow, although I might get dropped at Warp Factor 9. I start to worry when we are following Super Slider.

Just a bit of info about Sundays event...

The Montague Burton Trophy Hillclimb Championship Meeting - Sunday 5th August

136 competitors will be torturing their tyres at the one day Harewood Speed Hillclimb Championship Meeting.

The Championship is presently led by John Hoyle in his 2-litre Westfield SEiW. The Harrogate man is closely pursued by the 2000 Champion, Nottingham's Dave Banner in his smaller capacity Westfield.

Local Leeds OMS single-seater constructor and driver, Steve Owen, is mixing it with the leaders in the main championship. Not only does he hold third place, Steve is also leading the FTD Championship in his OMS racing car with a perfect score of 10 points at each of the four rounds held so far. It is difficult to see anyone toppling him from his present unassailable position.

Jenny Woodfield presently leads the Ladies Championship in her 2-litre Escort. Jenny has won the Ladies Championship for the past three years but is under extreme pressure from Lynn Owen who shares the OMS single seater with her husband Steve. Clare Sullivan in her Mini would be up with the leaders except for a disastrous start to the season, but may still come good as the season enters its most exciting phase.

The Magic of Maranello wil be displayed by sixteen of this most exotic of makes. The competitors in this class will all be driving their cars as Ferrari intended - hard.

Topping the entry list in the race for Fastest Time of the Day will be the 3500cc, 600bhp Formula 1 engined Pilbeam of Alan Newton but his race to be he fastest man of the day will not be made easy as many of the 2-litre single-seaters are quite capable of taking the honours.

With everything from Road Going Modified Saloon and Sports cars to 600bhp single-seaters, there will be something for everyone to marvel at, at this most exciting of venues. Harewood is the best hill in the country for spectators. It has unrivalled viewing facilities; the whole of the hill can be viewed from the paddock. The spectators can get close to the action, and can examine the cars in the paddock. As a hillclimb spectacle it has few equals and is a must for all serious motor sport enthusiasts. With some of the country's top drivers in action today, you can be sure of some exciting speed hillclimbing throughout the classes, which as mentiond above, include sports, saloons, kit cars, formula libre cars and various capacity single seaters.

Sunday 5th August

Practice starts at 0900 hours

Racing starts at 1200 noon approx.

Admission per adult, £6.00, which includes a FREE programme whilst stocks last

FREE admission to the paddock

FREE admission for Children under 14 years

FREE Car Parks, including Hillside, with a view of the track

Commentary during the event

Digital Time display

Speed Trap display

Catering facilities and Bar

Unrivalled viewing facilities

I have spoken to Pat Kenyon - one of the organisers and she is going to try and make it so we all park up in the same area.

As the practice starts at 09.00 I would suggest that we get to the car park as close to that time as possible.

With that in mind I would suggest that the Leeds crew meet at the Old Ball carpark by 08.30.

I would then suggest meeting the Harrogate lot (lads'n'lasses) at Harewood at about 08.55 - best place is probably just after the lights on Harewood Avenue.

Follow the attached link for a map and full details...

Hmm! Meant to be at Harewood House with the familty, wonder if they will miss me for a couple of hours

Weather warning: if it cools down the wind on the hill can be bitter, so chuck some long trousers/fleece in the car just in case!

cheers,

Right, I think we are nearly sorted...

For those Leeds (local) lads'n'lasses we will be at the Old Ball Pub car park in Horsforth until 08.30...we will be leaving here promptly to get to the next location so don't be late.

We will then be popping up the road to Murgatroyds Fish and Chip shop carpark to leave no later than 08.40. Again, for those who are not local this is located at the traffic lights before the Leeds/Bradford Airport tunnel & roundabout. Turn left at the lights and immediately riht into the carpark.

After that we are heading straight off to Harewood (with a little country driving!! ) where we will aim to meet everyone else at 08.55...parked up somewhere just after the lights on Harewood Avenue (the road towards Collingham)...

The Hill Climb is 2 mins down the road on the left hand side...so if anyone misses us...meet us at the climb

They have a Buttie Wagon and Beer Wagon...however as always I would suggest a few drinks and sarnies are put into the cars, unless you want to feel your wallets empty!!

See you all on Sunday.

If anyone wants better directions give me a call on 07798 762285 any time.

All the best

Tom
