Forgot to ask, are there any age restictions for passengers? I'm hoping my mate will be coming with me (its a long way towing a car on a trailer), can I take his 15 year old son out on track? Will also have my turd (son) with me, he's 18 now but fortunately can't drive..... not even a bit. Must run in the family

No real age limit (as we've never had anyone really young).. We'd probably have a problem with a child seat.. but my lad's been out and he's younger than 15. As long as they wear a helmet and you take responsibility then no probs..

What about mental age is there any restrictions on that cos mine's quite young
I went to get some Nos Octane Boost (the stuff that I was on about earlier in the thread) yesterday and found they do another version for "racing only" and this one increases RON by up to 6 points!! ........
........I couldn't resist

Thanks for the offer Alan, if I get there in time then I'll see you, otherwise I'll catch up- I don't want to disrupt anyone else's day.
If I get the car perfectly placed on the trailer then I can travel pretty quickly and should be at the services before you guys leave. It can take a couple of stops to get it balanced right though...

A bit disappointed TBH, just looked at the weather forecast and chances are its going to be dry a bit of wet weather would have been fun, and it would have meant I wouldnt have to change my wheels and put some sacrificial tyres on
Should be a cool day. Arent your smilies wacky

I was hoping a set of F1's with 3mm on would be good for a lot of the day but it doesnt sound like it in that case.... I shall just have to use my T1R's, a good excuse I suppose to start killing them as I loathe the things anyway

what size do you use steve? if you increase the front tyre pressure you should stop it knocking the shoulders off, but you may damage the turn-in even further.
do you have much geometry adjustment on the front of the SX?

On its current springs the car is 30mm lower than standard, which the front geometry can be adjusted to accomodate .

I would have thought you're running your pressures a little high, but whilst I know a fair bit about race car geometry I'm not an SX expert.
I think I may have some part worn 17s- taken off when I've punctured one so replaced the pair- will chuck them in the pickup if you like and you can have them free if they're of use to you. I tend to collect things that I'm never again going to have any use for.....
I've also got a load of 17" slicks- might be fun to run them on the front and sh itters on the rear

The tyre pressures have been trial and error ro get the best wear and handling, although the F1's seem happy to run at 32 which is normal road pressure. The Toyos are awful with lower pressures, even at 36 theyre not the best, they make the car skip and bounce, but at least they are acceptable at that point. I do tend to adjust my pressures too once the tyres have warmed up properly.
The offer of part worns is very kind, thankyou, I can always find a home for sacrificial tyres

They are, on the whole, pretty new tyres.
Why is it you always get a puncture within 500 miles of fitting a new set???
Will have a chat on saturday, will be good to meet you. Have always fancied a go at drifting, and am doing a drift day next wednesday at Oulton, so would appreciate your advice.
Cheers,
Simon.

Its going to be a half cage, I wasnt happy about driving it on the road with a full cage.
Mine is the Burgundy S14 starting P150, come over and say hello. The puncture thing is uncanny, happened to me about 100 miles into a new set of F1s, large steel spike fell off a lorry and killed tyre and alloy. That made me feel happy happy joy joy.
Cheers
Steve
