On a serious note, the Mrs and I had a baby boy 3 weeks ago, and it really is worrying to think what sort of state the Country is going to be in by the time he is an adult.

**** it, I'm going out now to catch some baddies

The do-gooders will never allow something which may actually do some good It is after all proven that the likelyhood to reoffend is significantly reduced after a character building holiday to Kavos

I too try and steer clear of city centres. I don't have a scooby, but have an Evo (it makes no odds....most of them think it's a scooby). Was driving quite happily with my girlfriend one saturday evening through nottingham on the way back from a restaurant, when I was forced to stop at some lights (they were red you see). Some pikey gypo chav plonker decided it would be most mature to walk around the back of my car and slam his hand down on my rear spoiler...I mean, why?!? what's the point?

I wasn't prepared to jump out and give him a knuckle sandwich as you don't know what they have on them (except maybe rabies......and my girlfriend was scared)...so I just pre-empted the lights (with nothing coming). Luckily his argos jewelled hands did no damge.

there are a lot of tw@ts about lately.
i was in the farringdon office on 11.00pm saturday and trekking home towards Bow, and for the life of me i couldn't understand how many people there were about, not just staggering around, but the volume of traffic (mostly uninsured and untaxed i guess) about.

had the doors well locked, music turned down, just waiting for some (i wont say what colour) lets say reggae lover, to saunter in front of my car and take about 15mins to cross the road, looking at me constantly.

****ing attitude, i was tired, spent about 12 hours at work on a saturday, and was about 1 nanosecond from ploughing my boot into the axminster and mowing the *unt down!!!!

i hate everyone i dont know and it does me good!!!

inspecially in E of London.

See the problem is there can be lots of talking but never any action.......

I mean you always get cut up by someone and think, "He'll get his one day....." but you never know do you? why not be the one to do this?

Thats the mentality I take. I go to chav places....I laugh in their faces in the street and will walk square chested through a crowd of them.....let em have a go.

As long as you don't throw the first punch, you'r safe......

**** em.....better then punch bags....and doing a justice....

A lot of the problem is attitude - the chavs have such a dont care, cant be arsed, cant be bothered to better myself - no respect for anyone or their property etc etc..........its so annoying that people are just prepared to scum the country up

The education system has gone to s**t under New Labour as has law and order.

These are the results.

Very true UB. The conservatives started the rot, and new labour have just made it worse

Iwan - You were a brave man to be driving into the centre of Swindon at that time of the morning. If I'm going on a long trip like that, I either get the fuel earlier in the day, or pay extra and get it on the motorway. Way too many chavs in the town center, even mid-week...

I think the answer is to patronise them!!! As much as you can, frankly giving them a title "chav" makes them proud of waht they are, and has resulted in more of them being around.

Im currently working in an office for Fire Safety. And a bunch of them have just walked in to watch the most patronising video ive ever heard, on why they shouldnt set fire to things/people/themselves. Long live the phoenix project! Bless them

Oh another point i feel i should add. I believe there should be a nationwide curfew put in place. So that, no persons under the age of (say) 16 should be allowed out after 9pm. Theres is NO reason for them to be out at that time! This may make parents be a bit more responsible and take an interest in their children's lives thus enhancing the parent/child relationship, half the cannabis smoking / underage drinking overnight, make our streets safer to walk at night, reduce teenage pregnancies, and more importantly i think it would destroy the chav culture, from its very roots! Anyone agree?

Part of the problem is that the parent's don't give a toss either. Kid grows up seeing mum and dad sponging off the system, so they do the same.

What can be done? Well, vigillante action seems to be a good first step. Why? well, I think if enough of it happened then those in power might, just might realise that there is a rather large and worrying social issue that needs to be resolved very quickly.

I think a curfew is a good idea, if you're out when you should not be, you're punished. Problem is, if you're punished by night in the cells then no doubt the chavs would see this as being a badge of honor.

What we need to do is round all the chavs up, probably easy by having a fake modded car show and burberry sale at the same place, make sure the venue is airtight, get them all in, lock the doors, drop in some Zyclone B, wait 10 mins, job done.

Wow. Just after posting this thread I buggered off to Slovakia for a week (blissful - no chavs there ), looking at the thread tonight I was surprised (pleasantly) to see the number of replies from people feeling the same way I do.

Sadly I didn't have a lot of choice this time Iain, I was asked late saturday evening if I could give a lift to some friends at 3am the following morning. I couldn't go and fuel up strait away as I was packing my bags for my own flight midday sunday. The tank was totally empty, and I NEEDED optimax as that's what it's mapped for I I don't have any emergency octane booster.

It's got to be at least 2 years since i've been out pubbing/clubbing in Swindon, basically due to all the trouble I started to see when I was out. Having not been there at night for a while, I had no idea what it'd be like.

I'll know better in future. If I go out these days, it's usually to a quieter town like Cirencester. Since Ciren is a bit more stuck up, they seem to have some nicer/quieter places (wine bars etc.) to go out - and not nearly as many chavscum.

Tell you one thing, I really wouldn't want to be a taxi driver at night these days. They must run into this sort of thing on a nightly basis!

Its not just that they don't respect authority J4CKO, but that there is no authority left to deal with them. The Police and schoolteachers have their hands tied with PC pronouncements and the courts just let them off anyway.

I know just what you mean about the ones who spoilt your afternoon JTaylor, they come down here on holiday swaggering about pushing people out of their way dropping litter all over the place and throwing up outside the pubs. Sheer magic!!

Stickered up cars, gold wheels and look at what I've got. You are the chavs, the rest of us can't tell the difference.

Hehehehe. Not ALL of us are, but i do agree on the stickered up sentiment, regardless of marque. It's chavness attempting to be respectable, and it fails imo. Gold wheels a bit harsh, that was a factory fitting, but i know what you mean.

I believe burberry shellsuits come that way from the factory as well. One could always choose different clothes but if the cap fits.

Nah PP, that's a poor analogy. The wheels on a car are just one small part of it. Few, if any people buy a Scoob just for the gold wheels. But it's a point we won't be able to prove unless/until Subaru offer a cost-free silver alternative option.

Bit like saying the pattern is just a small part of the overall makeup of a burberry branded shellsuit, even the ones with just a small insignia on them. They remain the domain of those with shockingly poor taste, chav fodder.

YOU highlighted the wheels mate, not me. As a brand, Subaru doesn't HAVE to represent chavness, but many, via stickers etc, choose to turn them into such symbols. Shame really.

How long will it be until someone without a wife and kids to care about does a Charles Bronson style clean up of the streets over there? There's got to be a large number of people that have been affected by the behaviour of certain individuals & groups and are ready to do the vigilante thing, especially if they've seen the offenders getting soft punishments.

Indeed the Legacy is an understated vehicle appreciated by those across the social spectrum. The Impreza however is the domain of the shaven headed thug, the elderly trying to recapture their youth (but can't afford a Ferrari or Porsche).
Strikes me as funny that members here are decrying the chavs when from an outsiders viewpoint THEY ARE THE CHAVS.

Are you a chav checklist?

1.Impreza with gold wheels

2. Does it have 'gay' pink badges on it? Doubly chav if isn't actually a real STi

3.Do you or have you ever visited an out of town center such as 'Bluewater'?

4. Do you own a football/rugby shirt and wear it other than to matches?

5. Any car brand related clothing?

6. Live on an estate of any kind?

7. Eat at fast food places other than your local chip shop?

8. Drink Stella?

9. Read papers printed by News International? (not sure who NI are-you're a chav)

10. Have Sky TV?

There are many more but as that probably covers 99% of the people who post here it's probably enough.
If so best to keep the chav comments to yourselves as YOU ARE THE CHAVS.
