I want something to be very individual and mean something to me but after nearly 5 years i'm no closer. I cant go into a parlour as that confuses me even more.
Is it true that yellow and red need to be touched up fairly regularly compared to blue and black????????

not sure tbh, i only had blackwork up to about five years ago and so i guess i'll find out in time. Black fades to blueish anyway, but it doesn’t really show unless you have a reasonably long break between sessions...you can see a difference on my flame cap; the original tribal band is much bluer than the extensions to it that merge with the flamework (a gap of 10 years!). i think tattoos look better slightly faded anyway, they kind of become more a part of you rather than a separate thing...

Got 2 done when I was in the Navy and ashore in Singapore way back in the 70's. Was pissed at the time and thought it would make me cool/hard/fit in/whatever. Regretted it for quite a few years until I got them removed.
If it floats your boat then do it - but think about it very carefully.

I had a tiny tattoo done on my toe a couple of years ago - I figured that 1) I could keep it covered when I wanted to, 2) the skin wouldn't go all saggy when I'm older, and 3) it wouldn't hurt as it was so tiny. Right on the first point, too early to tell on the 2nd, and entirely wrong on the 3rd point - utter agony, albeit only for a couple of minutes!

Maybe drugs are the way - especially if the Tattoo fraternity will think I'm hard as nails . Then again - Henna might be easier

Each to their own, its your own skin do what you like.
My Tats represent certain times in my life and have more meaning than just tats alone.
If others dont like it they can look away

Did you hear about the guy who was mad keen on Bridgette Bardot? His girlfirend thought that she would do some thing to really please him, so she had a B on her right cheek and another B tatooed on her left cheek.
When he gets home she bends down with her **** towards him and drops her pants and say "what do you think?"
He says really annoyed "who the f***ks BOB?"
