Suppose I could signup using my work email addy.
Bravo, Did u migrate from another ISP and use their online signup to do it? Was it simply a matter of supplying a mac code and then waiting for them to email you? How long did it take to get signedup and online? Cheers.

Yep transferred from Pipex, got the mac code, signed up online using the mac code and then they send you a host of emails saying whats going on when. You can sign in to the web portal pretty much straight away to check all your account settings, setup email addresses etc and track your order processes.
I signed up Wednesday last week and today I have the connection live and ready to use and with the Bank Holiday inbetween I think it was pretty good going
All I have to do now is email everyone who has my Pipex address to tell them its changed as Pipex do not give any forwarding options for any period of time, once your service stops with them at the end of the billing period say goodbye to your email straight away.

I do use hotmail mainly but Pipex email I used for certain things.
I got home last night and guess what my router wouldn't connect. Checked all the settings and all was right so on the phone to Plusnet now to find out why the hell it says my line is active but I can't get a connection.

Just got through to them, they said my connection has just connected, been on 1 minute. I asked why it has only just connected when I was told it was live yesterday and spent ages trying to troubleshoot it and they said likely BT had told them it was active before it actually was. Will see when I get home but not the ideal start!

No they dont change anything at the exchange, but I think they are involved at some point, as all ISP ADSL services are based upon a basic BT line package. I.e IPStream Home 500 or Datastream500, 1000 etc etc.
So +net maybe telling the truth. But I think alot of ISPs just use that line, as its too convenient for them to do so

Thats what I thought but wanted to confirm. If I was connected to Pipex, then it stopped and I should have been staright onto Plusnet I can't see why my ADSL was off for over 24 hours if BT had nothing to do at the exchange. I was of the understanding the change over between providers was supposed to have a loss of service of no more than about 2 hours between one connection being discontinued and the new connection going live.
