however, the magic answer to which i refer, i do believe is achievable...simply install someone as PM who genuinely has no political or personal agenda, and similar cabinet members...i know this is a big ask, (and wont lead to fuel duty for example being halved instantly), and change cant happen overnight, but it cant hurt...

it may seem naive, but thats the only way i truly believe it can be done...

It wouldve crept up, but they kept putting off the rise.

And now that pump prices have risen so much now, theyre probably getting millions more in tax anyway.

...but how does that acheive lower taxation? The country requires a certain level of money to run.....they can't magic it out of nowhere.

Argh! Fuel duty is fixed - they gain no more from higher pump prices. What they do gain, is a few pennies in VAT....not a great deal.

i know this...i just dont believe that the way the government goes about it is necessarily the only way...i believe, rightly or wrongly, that the govt taxes us in a certain way to appease other parties...i think a different approach might be called for, and if someone with no political agenda were to oversee that, things could be different...shoulda, woulda, coulda, i know, but im convinced theres another way...

not wasting the taxes we pay hand over fist would be a start wouldnt it...?
