Im not saying thats all people. to be honest none of my friends went to Uni so I cant comment but maybe people should start dictating what theyre doing with their lives themselves rather than going to Uni on the back of getting loans and the life of riley for a while.... Lets face it most uni courses are pointless....
Parents should be encouraging kids to go get a real job, it never did anyone else any harm becoming a plumber/carpenter/plasterer/bricky... All these people never seem to be out of work and all seem to do well for themselves. In fact, probably do better than most Degree graduates....
But you quoted everyone under 30 anyhow, hence my post, If I could do it at 21 then a 30 years old could have left uni and bought a house at 26.... Off course presuming his uni grades got him a reasonable job
OK I have to admit house prices are out of reach for many people. If Id nto have bought when I did they'd be out of reach for me too, I cant deny it.... There are people who I feel sorry for in that sense.
As before I wasnt arguing we would or wouldnt hit recession. Personally I aint ar$ed if we do or dont. Just think many people spout rubbish about too (i.e. PSL) living in a dream land.

If they (in your example) cannot afford to house themselves and the two kids, they should have held off before having the kids.
Just as an exercise, can you point out some affordable, adequate housing in and around your area for a family as above (use e.g rightmove)? Maybe the couple should move in with their parents or something...
Searches in other areas around major cities produced plenty of similar results.
I'm sure that the family in your example would struggle to find a nice 4/5 bed property with double garage and en suites galore - but what is so wrong about that?
Why is the concept of buying a cheap first house, living in it for a while and then trading up when funds allow so alien to people???
