Well it depends. If you're wanting to hurt the UK economy and influence the chancellor, then you need to stop consuming it in protest. That's the only way any protest could work.

Influencing global demand? Of course not, but if EVERYONE worldwide did their bit, demand would decrease. That includes less use of plastics etc etc etc etc (ie, reducing usage of crude generally).

I dunno, it worked well last time. Made sure that fuel tax was at least frozen, and they had no plans on doing that
