Yes he must of had a fantastic view of Steven Davis who played the ball through to healy for the goal, seeing as he stood and watched him trap the ball, look around for who was available & then play the killer pass with absolutely nobody closing him down, ie Beckham 3 feckin yards away.

What a shambles I hope Ian Wright kicks **** outa Sven in the players lounge tonight

We need an English coach with passion, not some dim fool who has no idea what winning means to the nation, especially over our neighbours, who I have to say, put on a very disiplined and proffessional performance, and scored and very nice goal too.

Time for a change before we dont even qualify for the World cup!!!!!!!!

I was around my mates playing poker last night and we could not believe how crap england were.

Davegtt - how you can say for the 1st 30 mins england played their best football in a long time?????

Wright phillips looks out of his depth. The midfield just cant hold the ball or get it back come to think of it. We so need a Ince or even Batty type player.

I cant help but feel it all roots down to Sven. He just has no passion whatsoever. You only had to see Mclaren screaming at the players last night whilst Sven looked like a rabbit caught in a cars headlights. Gormless t*at!

He changes the formation on a regular basis, he changes the players all the time so there is never any consistency.

Tbh Id be more than happy if he got the boot/resigned right now.

Simon.

WTF!!!!! we held the ball for AGES!!!!! we spent 30minutes passing the ball around the middle of the park playing simple football. like I say its definately the best football Ive seen us play in a long time. we stood up to the pressure they put us under, had no time on the ball yet still managed to pull off some good passes and movement. only problem last night was the managers approach. WHO plays a 4-5-1 against a team who was quite evidently going to spend most of the time defending with 9 or 10 men? up til half time it worked in the sence that we gave them a work out and tired them out (even though it didnt show, the had superb fitness levels last night) then 2nd half we should have been bombarding them, take a defender off for a bigger striker like Bent ot something so we had someone who was at least going to win a header in the box. If we started 4-4-2 and opened the game up a little we would have found a way also. personally last night Sven showed the world how incompetent he was. Shame he wont go anywhere

The passing was $hite. What's the point passing it about in midfield? It does **** all and certainly will never win a game. Beckham should get signed up for Wimbledon playing long ***** all the time which NI quickly mopped up. Might be fantastic passes but again it produced nothing. They are an absolute disgrace, they seem to totally forget the concept of pass and MOVE (and move fast), instead of just standing about.

OMG, give it a rest.... passing was sh!te? what was displayed in the first half of the game was some of the best passing you'll ever see in a football match. I do agree with it being slightly pointless if you read my whole post the idea was to make them chase the ball around and get knackered out so in the 2nd half our supposedly better fitness levels would take over the game. Although that didnt quite work due to the incopetence of the managers tactics.

"Theyre" an absolute disgrace? whos they? Sven was the 1 soley to blame last night. Ive been slagging off the england team and their efforts for ages now so you cant say Im a lover of them but last night they did what they was told. When your running with just a 5' 10" Owen as a sole striker against 10men behind the ball your never going to score. Simple....

Pass and move? have you tried to pass and move when theres 9 opposition players in the 18yd box. the ONLY thing your going to get from that is a potentiol penalty and that wont always work because its so crowded with players, 9 times out of 10 the ref wont get a proper veiw and dismiss it. crosses is the way of beating a team who plays that style but with a midget single striker it wont work....

Alan Hansen said on Saturday that sooner or later Beckham was gonna get found out playing in that position. Seems it was sooner

If he want's to be the midfield holding player he'd better learn to hold the ball, tackle & stay upright, and fecking fast

About time we started with a pair of match fit strikers too
