Anything near a road I would not listen to headphones. also I would guess it effects your balance.
what is the sound quality like? How does the Ipod connect?

if you think wearing an ipod will make you fall into the road then you best stick to looking where you are going.

Had a look at a Nano today. It is way smaller and thinner than the mini iPod.
Very cool

I was thinking more riding the bike up and down rocky hill sides. I'm sure you know that your balance is down to your ears.

Nano's seem v. expensive for the amount of storage - my 30gb ipod photo was only £20 extra...

that Sony player is stunning - love it.

middle ear... you clot

Have mountainbiked (pretty seriously.....) over the last 2 years wearing my i-pod and having mountainbiked (downhill/cross country) for the last 14 years I can safely say I notice no difference at all

Drive to work
Me too...then walk the remaining 2 miles to save paying a fortune to park in the centre of Edinburgh

I'm aware it's your middle ear I just wondered how it effected your balance if at all. I know when I have a cold and my hearing is blocked my balance is not as good.

fair enough. suits your lifestyle then.

Out of interest, where do you wear your iPod when cycling? I've moisture damaged a few phones/radios over the years by wearing them too close to my skin....(down the side of my shorts if you must know - no pockets in lycra!).

Thumbs up

Imlach

I've got rear pockets in my cycling tops (you know the ones where road cyclists keep their bottles and hats )

It's stayed dry, but then I normally have a t-shirt underneath the top...

Failing that I just keep it in the bum-bag and make sure I don't fall off

I just wondered how it effected your balance if at all.
No problems at all STI......

Good plan....'cept that my old cycling tops don't accomodate that curvy bit on me now...you know the bit...the one below the chest and above the waist

iPod Mini is obsolete now....you can't buy one new (aside from old stock I guess).

iPod mini were 4Gb & 6Gb I think?????

2Gb is approx 500 tracks.
4Gb is approx 1000 tracks.

so if you can get an ipod mini 4 gb for £100 its got to be worth it, albeit a bit bigger than the nano, for me thats a plus, as I would definatly lose the nano. probably 5 times a day actually.

Like phones it seems smallest is best.

I daresay many of you try to convince your lady friends of that fact too

I have no Mp3 player, but my understanding is that the iPod is a triumph of marketing over technology. In that the iRiver is meant to be the better device for compatability issues. Particularly with windows?

Is this true?

News just in.....

"Panic buying for tissues has started. Official sources of the cause for this phenomenon are as of yet unknown, but it has been linked with the launch of the new iPod Holder"

affects your balance!?! thats the middle ear.. mine was affected when i had an ear infection in both ears but never from music...never fallen over whilst DJing

would be funny watching all the gymnasts falling over as soon as their rutein music starts!

can get adapters so it'll play through your car stereo, meaning you can have your whole c.d collection for the car without risking it all being stolen...and you dont have to fuff about with 300 odd c.d's!

was thinking this, want to get one or the other,

would like the Nano as i think the smaller it is the more likely you are to use it everyday, but it'd mean i would have to faff around with what music i do and dont want on it. prob get the 60GB one if not the nano as have a ridiculous amount of music!

ideally would like both! nano for day to day and the 60gb for coach/plane trips etc..

will have to see how much the mini's go for now, maybe a compramise and get one of them and a 60gb...

Go for the photo model - Apple in talks with film distributors to get a movie eqivalent to iTunes - and it'll work on any colour screened ipod - read that the 60gb model has enough for 240 hrs (yes hrs) - bit of a pity that the battery life will last you 1 Lord Of The Rings film though...

Eh? More like the trilogy. The iPod 60g and 20g run 15 hours of battery.
