Huge queues at every station I passed at about 10:00 this evening. Tesco's at Brookfield Farm had massive queues. Something I have noticed is that quite a few of the garages had run out of diesel. I filled up at my local Gulf garage which was nearly empty

The dream is over.
Bye-bye petrol, hello electric.

I will tell my kids about the good'ul days where cars had 'car' smells in the next few years. Believe me.

Just stuck a few quid in the tank as the gauge was in the minus. No queue to be seen at the station... £5 should last me for a week or two with the 0.8 miles I cover to work and back I should work further from home

Merseyside Police have asked people not to ring 999 to ask where to buy fuel after phone lines became strained.

Yes Pete - it was you

Will they interview you on the BBC news - Will we at last get to see you .

I can see other websites putting up links to this thread saying - it was this guy that started off the great panic buying madness.

You could end up being more famous than Tweaky's **** .

What's next from Mystic Pete ?

Please predict the downfall of New Labour - Pretty please

All stations in Macclesfield dry this morning, although I filled up at Shell Dean Row at 6:30am (thanks to my little boy waking me up early) with no probs -- and they're getting a delivery later today, the cashier said.

1 petrol station out on my way to work, all the others looked chaotic. Morons everywhere, I've only got 1/4 of a tank and in all honesty am rather looking forward to running out and having to use my bike, something I've been meaning to do alot more of.

Lol Rob Austin needs a good slap, as do the mentally deficient who panic bought yesterday...
What with this petrol clambering and mass hysteria about cricket, it's currently embarrasing to be English

Tescos bathgate forecourt was packed at 10pm last night.

The other half spends most of his working day driving to visit clients; we passed whitburn shell and it was dead. Thought with 1/4 of a tank left we had better fill up just in case - especially with me about to give birth at anytime now!

beacuse clowns will queue when they have 9/10ths of their tank full, to fill up the remaining 10th to help them feel smug and less insecure.....therefore temporarily increasing demand and causing local shortages......

Very sad

below is a bit taken from BBC news:

She said: "Motorists are trying to keep their tanks full but they will actually end up creating a fuel shortage by not sticking to their normal buying habits.

"Although there's no actual shortage at refineries, this kind of panic-buying at the forecourt is exactly the sort of thing that causes the problem."

I'm looking forward to everyone running out of fuel so I can take the TVR out for some 12 mpg runs down empty roads. Although it's only got half a tank in -- maybe I should panic buy another half a tank, and some jerry cans to be sure?

As people who do more than take the kids the mile to School each day can't fit a week's worth of fuel in their car?

This is funny, the money that the government and oil companies lose next week when theres no fuel will be made up for by the fact that theyve sold more than twice as much as usual this month, theyre just laughing at us.... then when there is fuel everyone will be back on Empty and fill up again.... If anything we're making an inconvienience for ourselves more than anyone else

and whilst PSL if tossing himself off by the fact that he made a miracoulas prediction about panic buying hes finally shut up about house prices which hes been predicting for the last 5 years lol

Thumbs down

My only concern is that I won't have enough fuel to go to Rally GB. Couldn't give a toss about the tw@t protesters and there stoopid ideas.

Fuel is an expensive commodity, get over it

It's not panic buying, it's conscientious buying.

If everyone didn't panic buy there would be no problem - but that won't happen, so either join them - or have no fecking petrol.

I'd need a tank that holds about 500 litres to have a weeks supply, especially this week what with the rally.
