Probably one of the worst UK Imprezas for fuel consumption .... the "blob eye" is better!
Its a much heavier car as well .... drove one for the first time at the weekend and was quite disappointed with it!

Oh, so the Bug-eyed is thirstier and not as quick as the Classic? :S How does the Blob-eyed model fair?? In terms of performance/reliability/fuel consumption?

The classic isnt as well made (mainly inside though i.e. cabin trim etc) and some would argue that there are some issues with reliability issues .... but a properly serviced and well looked after classic will go well into 6 figures no problem!
The first thing you notice about the new age cars is the better interior .... but (and I can only comment on the "bug eye" here) start it up and it just dosent sound the same, pull away and it feels sluggish by comparison (mainly due to the extra weight). The classic is a much rawer car, more of a drivers car .... whereas the new age is more refined, easier to live with but not as quick or as fun to drive .... at the end of the day, to me, the whole point of the Impreza is the drive it gives you .... which is why I still have my RB5!!
The "blob eye" is a better car than the "bug eye" .... its slightly more powerful, more economic (probably slightly better than the classic but not a lot!), looks a bit better .... generally better but still a different car to the classic.
Also, the prices of "blob eye" cars are still a bit higher than the "bug eyes" so I dont know if you would get one for under £10K .... plus you wouldnt be buying a car thats as individual or as rare as an RB5 .... point is, everyone looks at my RB5, dont think that could be said of a standard "blob eye"!!
