Wifey had trouble filling up the Scoob (genuine re-fill, drove home on fumes tonight!!!)
Got to our local station, and some fat-cat ar$ehole in a Jag was messing about (her words, not mine!!), when she finally got to the pump, it was out of service!!!

She had to travel to the next station (about 6 mile away) for SUL...... no problem there though.

Won't be an issue anyway, as she's classed as Emergency services...........

If push comes to shove though, the Scoob will stay on the drive, adn I'll MTB to work. NO problem either way

Dan

edited to add that my daily commute is about 25 miles
Didn't want peeps thinking I used my car for a "school run" - not that I'd really give a to$$ what you lot thought anyway!!!

Angry Idiots panic buying fuel!!!!!!!!!

Why??? There aren't going to be blockades!!! Just put fuel in when you need it, and the garages won't run out of fuel!! This country is pathetic!!!

I commute 200miles a day to work, and this is going to f*ck me right up as i can't be sure there will be a petrol station with fuel left on my journey, because the tw@ts who use 1 tank a month have filled up their car, 8 jerry cans and their teapot!

I'm all in favour of the protests, the only real problems are being caused by the selfish state that is now the UK!

You're in favour of protests, so long as you get fuel for your 200 mile commute you mean What were you saying about selfish?

Agree with you 100%. Panic buying is pathetic.
I'm off to Wales this week for the WRC and i'm travelling from the N.E. of England so i will be a tadge pissed off if i struggle for fuel do to panic buyers draining garages of stocks.
Some me call me selfish but watching the news tonight there is absolutely no need to panic buy. If we go about our businesss as usual we will all be ok.
Why line Gordons pocket in three days flat, make him wait !

Whats selfish about buying the fuel that i need when i need it?? Its the people stock piling it or obviously buying it because they think there maybe a fuel crisis coming so just fill up just incase so they can do there 2 mile journey next week!! Its the same people who buy 18 loaves of bread when 1mm of snow is forecast

OK, so if you're in favour of the protests, will you stop buying fuel when they start such that you can't do your 200 miles a day?

Angry Panic plonkers!

It's the panickers getting in the way of people who are on fumes that are annoying.

Wifey took scoob to work today as not enough fuel to do my commute (36 miles each way), and no time to fill up this morning. I overslept ok? I'm only nearly perfect...
Any way she normally home by 6pm, so at 7.10 i'm a tad worried.
Then there's the thrub, thrub, thrub and in to garage she comes, my lil' baby. And the wife.
Took her over 45 minutes to get to the pump!
And the tw&t in the fiesta infront of her didn't bother stopping at the limiter!!! Fuel all over the forecourt, and now all over Lexx's tyres. What a complete **** jockey!
Why are people panicking, the pumps didn't run dry round here last time? We were limited to £20 a fill but wtf is going on this time?
Hope no-one on here gets stranded 'cos of all this, keep a jerry can for emergencies, but remember it will evapourate and possibly loose RON rating if kept for too long.
All the best guys n gals.
Lexx.
Whinge over, time for bed. Do it all again 2morrow...

I don't know...some may call them idiots panic buying (and some will be). Others may just be fuel protestors making sure that we get national news coverage

I sense another £5 "fill up" coming

I have to agree with Austen here. I have just run out of full in my old 205 because every petrol station in my area was either out of fuel, closed or the queues stretched half way down the road (I went to 9 in total), and I had just under quarter of a tank when I set out. In the end my girlfriend had to come out and we drove to a motorway services for me to fill a jerry can with fuel, get the car going and then go back for more fuel so I could get to work tomorrow!!!

Stuck 200 litres of optimax in the cars today...

That should last us the race at Goodwood this weekend.

Seriously, this could really screw my week if people dont calm down, i comute 130 miles per day and have to do over 1000 miles this weekend going between home, goodwood, donington park, goodwood, then home again.

Know what you mean John - I've got to be in Warrington on Wednesday (potential 400 mile round trip) and I'm down at the Rally - I'm getting seriously concerned for that

I was instructed by my boss earlier today to go an fill up the van with diesel because the queues were already starting where he was.
No queues at all when I filled up around 1ish, but by the time my GF got out of work later on, you couldn't get near the Tesco pumps for 99RON goodness and she had to put BP in instead.

In fairness, I probably get through a tank of diesel every couple of days, in the company van, despite behing a whopping great 64bhp ****-mobile, sometimes a couple of tanks in the same day. I have a 200 mile commute ahead of me tomorrow and wednesday too.

Personally I can't see the problem.... ok a few garages may be struggling with running out earlier prior to a scheduled tanker, but the tankers will still be delivering. I suppose people act like sheep, before actually finding out what this LEGAL demo is all about, is actually causing this problem.

Regards,
Shaun.

Will need to fill up before I head to Wales on Thursday Still, if I get the timing is right, there should be plenty of petrol left at the forecourts because all the panic buyers will have filled their cars and can't get any more in.
Bit on the news this morning - half hour queues at one petrol station, all of whom were complaining about the queue. Wonder how many actually left their engine running while they queued... now how stupid would that be?

hi jods. no local ones run out here as far as i'm aware, but i filled up on sun night so no panic here! i do have a can but it's got a 2 stroke mix in it for my scooter at the moment, although my other car is almost full and that's more efficient that the impreza (but not very safe in the rain!).

could mrs g get fuel through work if she needs it then? i had no idea and don't think she does either. tank was 3/4 full this morning so she's not worried at the moment and can always work from home if necessary - don't think i'd ask her to take my car to work to fill up though - it'll probably get dented in the car park!
