Some comment on local radio 'WM' just a few minutes ago, was about a bloke who turned up at a filling station in the Midlands with a dustbin, and that he had filled it up......
I'm taking the wheelie bin around the corner, get a few gallon

Last time there was hoarding there was this case (very last item):

I heard that the house had to be demolished and rebuilt because of the contamination !

I filled up at Shell Hull Rd York today. They were only selling diesel or Optimax.Optimax was 98.9. Their price for 95 RON is 92.9. Now people were filling up with optimax in all manner of cars. At 27 p a gallon more I find it strange that people are up in arms but then willing to pay so much more for a fuel they will not benefit from. 200yards down the road the Jet garage was as normal and they don't stock Super unleaded. In the words of Captain Manwaring DON'T PANIC!!!!

What a joke I've just driven home past 4 petrol stations. The first at Asda (I went shopping) had staff marshalling the cars into a car park behind the petrol station to queue up. They were causing chaos on the road still though The next an esso was shut, pumps empty, the second esso was the same The last was my local Shell and that was chaos, cars & buses spilling out into the street causing traffic chaos What a bunch of idiots I've got a third of a tank and once that's run out I won't care People really have gone mad!

Sorry if someone has already posted this but we had an email round work today (I work in health & social care) stating categorically that there will be no repeat of the probs last time and no need to take any emergency measures. This came from the office of normally mindless warnings (oops sorry the deputy promeminister) which recenlty emailed us to warn it might be cooler during the months December through to February.........

ROFL what you anti-panic buyers are forgetting is the fact that we live in a capitalist democracy. If you've got the money and the time, it's your right to sit in a petrol station queue and eventually buy however much or little fuel you want! No point grumbling about these panic buyers. They will still 'panic buy' anyway. If you don't like market forces then move to Cuba.
And actually anyone complaining about panic buyers is actually panicking themselves, thinking that because of the panic buyers there'll be no petrol for them when they need to fill up! If you weren't panicked about the situation you'd not even bother posting on this thread, and instead you'd be sitting at home barricaded amongst your 20 litre jerry cans.
Personally I filled up with Optimax yesterday and the only way I knew that there was any problem was because there was no 95 unleaded left. Anyway, I'm off to panic-buy a jerry can of Optimax to take with me to Wales this weekend.

Considering there's actually plenty of fuel, no-one has any idea what, if any, refineries or depots will be blocaded and the police have made it pretty clear they won't put up with the sort of nonsense we had before, it's laughable. If there is any shortage it'll be down to the muppets who are panicking over nothing.
As it happens I filled up Sunday night so I guess I can just sit back and laugh. If there are still queues at the weekend, when I'll need to fill-up again, I'll print this out and eat it.
Now I know all that's been said before but I just wanted to get it off me chest :-)
Must figure out how to use the animated smileys...

I am self employed and rely on my Forester to get me around the country, and I mean the country, this week alone Liverpool (Monday) Dartford (Tuesday) Swansea (Wednesday) Local in the Midlands (Thursday) Huntingdon (Friday), That little lot will involve filling the tank at least 4 times in a week.
No petrol, no work, lost business Thanks everyone especially the pillock who at the Tesco garage in Redditch today managed to squeeze £1.60 pence worth of fuel into the tank after waiting ages, then whinged when the cashier had to charge for the minimum delivery of 3 litres, had it been me I'd have charged you for half a bloody tank.

like BLOT says, there are no advanced warnings coming from the government...i also work in health & social care and have been told that it is unlikely there will be any shortages if only PEOPLE WOULD STOP PANICKING!!!!!
i have a horrible feeling that my colleagues and i would be classed as "essential users" and therefore be able to get fuel from other sources or some such rubbish! bloody essential users when the **** hits the fan, but when it comes to filling in the mileage form at the end of the month, classed as casual! i digress....i heard today that some places were running out of bread and that panic buying had spread to supermarkets!!! get a grip.

To be honest, if I owned a petrol station and I saw customers queueing round the block, I think I'd bung on another 10p a litre and make hay so to speak.
How is this sending out a message that petrol is too expensive They're just showing the petrol companies that they'd do almost anything for some petrol.

local stations around my carwash seamed to have ran out now
saw a few signs up saying they were dry, noticed quite a large drop in buis ness today, considering it was not raining or anthing like that, the only thing we could blame it on was the lack of people driving, roads looked a lot quieter.
so we raced the minimotos around for a bit
