British Gas were running a TV ad recently about folk switching back. If you listened carefully British Gas actually admitted they were more expensive - it's just that the customer preferred them!!

BTW it's not just the basic rates to look at there are other costs and charges to look into as well some of which mysteriously increase once you have signed something. dl

Píssy- I'd say British Gas are laughing at you for taking so long to react.

The change was to be had several years ago and monitored annually for best results.

The Utility Warehouse is still unbeatable to date for most areas. They are a quoted company that don't advertise.

Ooo, what's this I read.

Scottish Power has announced it is putting up its prices, just weeks after its main rival increased its charges.
The company is raising electricity prices by between 5% and 8% from 17 October and gas by 12%. But it is also offering customers capped prices.
How much are you saving now Pete? Three groats?

Do your own research, check the consumer watchdog sites/utility switching sites.

Everybody knows British Gas are the most expensive (apart from people in this thread it seems)

It's the same gas, through the same pipes, and the individual privatised companies can charge what they want.

All they need are the mugs to pay for it!

Do you think they are offering you cash back or a free months supply out of the goodness of their heart. Or are they desperate to keep customers, who they'll make the money back off anyway over the year.

The more people who switch away from British Gas, the more the people who stay will pay!

You're right mmmiddy, the losers on here stating that there are no savings to be made by switching are the same losers that will never get rich!!

But, heyhoo, we need losers like these to pay for us clever winners who get value for money - so, its not all bad news!!

I just smile at all those clowns who are not getting a 2% cashback on their credit card spending ............. they are ever-so-loyal and saving points!! Cash wins EVERYTIME.
