For me it was laying in A&E with a blood clot stopping blood flowing to my heart.
35 year old and having a heart attack. I now look back and think the 80 hour weeks I was putting in were perhaps a bit too much.

The whole UK work ethic seems to be to work loads of hours until you drop to pay for your massive mortgage and loans.
I think other European countries have it figured out better.

Remember you mentioning this before. I've decided the same and am cutting back on work. No point being the richest man in the graveyard and all that.
Did you have an angio? What did it show?

All clear, I'd been ill and not eating and my organs where shutting down, I had no risk factors other than stress.

No problems with angina and I can do an hour in the gym on cardio and do some punishing routes on my mountain bike without any problems. (Other than being knackered )

Cheers

Read this thread with interest as I will be an FTB soon.

I earn crap wages (in my opinion, @24 I'd hoped to be earning more but down here I'd be so lucky ), our joint income will be touching 40k when we come to buy, and I earn a fair bit more than the missus :/

I have hardly any deposit right now and we are renting, in a nice flat that's very very cheap. I am paying into a share option scheme at work, at current share price I've more than doubled my cash so far

Luckily next year my share options come through which should give me an almost 10% deposit on what we'd want, but it's still pretty expensive.

We have however seen a slight decline in the market down in south Devon.

This place for instance has dropped quite a bit in price since it was first on and still not shifted, to me this would be an ideal modern place to live for a fair few years.

But I guess I'll see this time next year how things pan out, and if we're ****ed or not

My folks own an estate agency down here and they said I shouldn't be in any hurry, whilst prices might not be "crashing" down they reckon, down here, they will slow and creep down.

Are you sure it was tapas or something else to do with your own ***? You know what these London boys are like.........

Loving the delboy references, particularly as those that posted them are the ones with the poor command of the lingo.

One 'takes' Tapas. It's just the way it is, probably sounds a bit odd to the type of people who eat in maccy d's. That's because you're scum.

Here's a book you should read to improve your French, maybe you could move onto Spanish next? Porqué no?

i think the £4/5 price was due to the dishes actually being prepared on the thigh of a sweet Spanish schoolgirl out the back
