I think you're all missing the point... Whether the Scoob would be quicker than the Quattro or vice versa doesn't actually matter. Driving a well-kept Quattro is quality motoring - full stop.

"The thing that amazed me about the 18 year old quattro was it handled the UK roads and bends much better than my scoob. So I could drive the Audi with more confidence. The scoob has JDM suspension and the jap roads must be smooth as a baby's bum. Sadly that forced me to upgrade the suspension on the scoob"

I think there is something here. No one questions wether or not a UrQ could lap a racetrack as fast as most well set up Impreza's and Evo's, but they do have their own unique abilities. Namely going fast on challenging roads especially in the wet. I think the engine, transmission, torsen set up all contribute. Maybe its not so bad to have a heavy front end after all, as long as the rest of the car is desiged right. Something to think about.

I guess too many people get so carried away with how fast a car is, or whether it's quicker than something else, that they forget some cars are cool to drive, and others are dull as ditchwater, regardless of their pace. E.g. our old '66 Beetle was slower than just about anything on the road, but on a wet roundabout, the tail-out fun at 15mph couldn't be beat LOL. Likewise, a VW Scirocco I owned for a little while was twice as much fun to drive as my old Nissan 200SX even though it only had half the 'go'.

driver interaction with the car is so much more important than how fast it goes, i have to admit having more fun in my old 115bhp focus than 270bhp classic...scoob sounds much better tho
