How effective is flywheel skimming?

When I had the light fly fitted I can recall that it felt lighter and more eager to rev throughout the rev range, including low down. I cannot say conclusively though as I did not test back to back with OE fly.

Personally I would always opt for a decent aftermarket lightweight flywheel every time.

LOL , I have a skimed standard OE flywheel (around 8Kg) and I noticed very little difference.
