I'm under the impression that the new B7 RS4 will be a normal model (ie not limited) in the same way as the RS6 was a normal model. I believe the only limited edition RS was the RS2 (I don't think the B5 RS4 was limited either). Heard 2 new B7 RS4s at Brands yesterday (pace/medical cars) and I'd buy one just for the V8 noise....awesome !

Only 400 per year into the UK sounds pretty limited to me.

Yes & no....while there maybe a limit on the number per year there isn't a limited on how many they will make in total. You can't say that there will be 800 or 1600 or 2400 UK B7 RS4. The RS range has always sold in small numbers so they are limited in that respect.

Yeh, see where your coming from, but while only having 400 per year into the UK should mean that residuals are kept quite high compared to if they just imported as many as people demanded. Residuals are still quite high for the last RS4. Like you say though RS models do sell in less numbers than regular models.
The last RS4 however sold far more the Audi antisipated which meant that because of the new shaped A4 was due for release, they actually ran out of A4 Avant shells. I also think they sold far more RS6's than they antisipated.

Plus look what happens then BMW allow as many M3's into the country as people want. Everyone's got one. There's 3 in my street alone! All owned by women. 1 is a coupe, and the other 2 a soft tops. Both in Black, and both with the optional 19" wheels.
