Welcome onboard

You'll need to learn to take some of the advice with a pinch of salt though. Some people like to dictate their own personal views over what mods you do to your car.

The OE unit is most suitable unless you run major mods with greatly increased boost levels that it cannot cope with. As I said, do the resonator removal and get the BOV sound (albeit a bit quieter) with none of the problems and for free, along with a potential performance benefit due to the free-er flowing, cooler air.

A little light reading

[QUOTE=corradoboy]I'm not too up on classics, but AFAIK it can still be done. The classic IIRC doesn't have the ram-air scoop and so the resonator pokes out of the wing into the engine bay sucking lots of warm dirty air up. [QUOTE]

my MY00 has one...

The extent of 'borewash' and whether it does any damage is debatable.

"borewash which can thin the oil and lead to premature cylinder lining deterioration along with bottom end problems as the oil thins and will not get you any performance gains whatsoever and may infact reduce it in certain situations"

Sounds scary.

Re: Performance. Yes, its not going to increase power but whether it can enhance throttle response on gear changes and make the car nicer to drive is a matter of opinion. I've tried have gone from OE->VTA->OE and I know which I most prefer (noise aside).

This has all been done before, so lets not clutter up this guys thread.
