There is online dating and online dating.
Do the really expensive sites still come under the same banner as sad to those that say it is?
Does the cost of the membership make any difference to the type of partner you might meet?
Does meeting and perhaps having a relationship with somebody from a BBS count as being sad?
Does it actually matter how you meet somebody if the chemistry is right and it goes on to be something more?
Having met several girls from various sites over the years (Not dating sites) and having had plenty of fun, I personally wouldn't dismiss it as sad. In fact it has been great having a different place to park your man fat should the mood take you one evening or weekend.
There are some beauties out there that, for one reason or another, are busy or just plain comfortable with talking online before meeting in person.
The nutters get a special PAYG mobile phone number that can be ditched if needs be and you can always block them on MSN/Yahoo/Skype etc.. In effect you have disappeared off the face of the earth as far as they are concerned!!
