Cheers Andy. Have you seen the RR graph? You must be proud of your work on the car as there are no peaks as such, just nice solid lines. The difference between this car and many others? Cant help but think the difference is in the mapping :

Bob

PS: You need to send me some business cards down as I have alot of people ask about its spec. Would just need to give them your card and say no more

Good result Bob. Did your 1/4 mile runs use Methanol?

Re the mapping (BRD), I have no complaints there either and I'd be surprised if there are many graphs that are flatter than mine And on pump fuel (no booster etc)!

I saw your car run, My car was a standard blobeye WRX(Black with gold wheels) with tdo4 and a GGR backbox, and I got a 13.9 @98.9mph, But did have a classic Impreza a year ago same as yours(Mica Blue with gold wheels) with a HKS Super dragger and decat midsection and got a 13.7 at santa pod.

Here a picture of my car.

I've tried the track and it really wasn't me. I by far enjoyed the drive home on backroads far more than I did on the track. Too much concentrating on keeping the car unharmed from barriers/gravel/other drivers for my liking.

1/4mile for me is fun, testing and measurable.

Have you given 1/4mile a go?

Bob, never given it a go but I am curious to try. I'm a bit confused about the lights though and the timing methods that I've read?

What's it all about? Perhaps I need to come and watch....

Floyd come along and watch, and bring your stuff just in case you "want" a go.

Lights is quite easy to understand, and so is the timing.

No need to watch. I have a link of how the lights work. http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/nhraxtree.html and a simulator here:
Its quite easy though:http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/nhraxtreepro.html

2 yellow lights for staging (your car must be between 2 lines on the strip)
When both cars are staged the amber lights come on and when they go off so do you. Simple.

Timing only starts when you break the 1st beam, so you can take as long as you like so long as its not heads-up racing (eliminations).

Santa Pod and Shakespeare Raceway are both equally as good venues.

Sounds fast those figures but as I'm a complete novice I've no reference point for comprehending the speeds/power needed to get those figures

Floyd,

Just as a bench mark to what is possible.... Stef used to get a tad over 13secs flat (if I remember) with nothing more than an induction kit and decat on a classic!

At lot of the drag strip is down to skill as power in its own right will not gaurantee top times.

Those were the early days when Stef, Harj and myself used to run down the spod at most RWYB days back in the late 90's early 2000.

Even though I had run more than 50 times down the SPOD, it didnt stop me from trying to ram Harjs car in to reverse at 80mph! You should of seen his face when I come back, after the reverse lights came on down the strip!

Have a go..... it's good fun.

Regards,
Shaun.

I got 12.49sec@110mph on my 1st go fully trimmed + extra weight (full tank, spares etc etc). Then 12.2 and 12.09 @114mph with a quick 5-10mins removing unnecessary weight, and a little more practice. I suspect I had a small leak on the i/c on those runs though.

Gives you something to aim for at least. Cars ability is one thing...

I think I ran against you in my Red Supra when you got the 12.2? Very impressive car if it was mate. I was pleased to be consistently getting 13.3s-4s in my supe all day really.

Have you got a custom gearbox too? I think your car made some quite interesting gearbox noises at full pelt?!

Heres a vid of my runs (and an MR2s) from the day:

Yes, I think I remember. I didnt bother with much heads-up racing but I made an exception with yours as I didnt know how quick it was. You cut the lights and I got a 0.05 reaction and 12.2 vs your 13.72.

The noise was the uprated gearsets.

Likewise

Wasn't any Scoobs running sub 13s from what I could see. Saw a classic wagon do low 13s. Was only 2 quicker cars than mine on the day. One was that Skyline with the sponsorship all over it but I missed who came second?

Will be some very quick scoobs this weekend at JapShow.

There was a black evo which ran a best of 11.9s with a 1.64 60ft. That gave me the incentive to push from 1.7s 60ft to 1.6s. The car had 3 different drivers so the times varied a fair bit.

I dont suppose you have a full clip of our run?

Didnt realise the gears made so much noise on the outside.

You can hear it clearly on the video and its very loud. At the time, I thought I'd blown my rear diff due to all the noise. I'll see if I can sort out a full vid clip of the run mate....
