Having had 2 belts stripped due to fight picking and being threatened with losing his one remaining belt if he didnt fight the number 1 contender, he fought Barrera and got absolutely destroyed. He tried everything, the glove blag, the 45 minute delay to out phsyc his opponent but Barrera wasnt phased and beat 12 cans out of the useless prat...
I went to a dinner with Nigel Benn where he explained how much of a coward Naseem Hamed has been during his pro career, especially by not training harder to try again and come back to reclaim Barreras titles...
I believe he came back in Dubai for a while fighting boxers with no limbs or something for a bit but with 30 million ish in the bank why coe back now and look crap again?
Techinically a crap boxer, outclassed by good technical boxers... I remember when he went 12 rounds with Sugar Boy Malinga (IIRC) and the points went his way (well in Mr Warren) when he was outclassed for much of the fight...
He was a good showman for those who like watching boxing but know little about the beauty and skill involved in the game.
I have all 3 Barrera v Moralles fights on DVD if you want to see boxing at its most amazing...

Would have preferred some Julio Cesar Chavez fights on DVD though

he believed his own hype, and as such never tried to develop himself I think. The comments on here are a little harsh I feel, as he was at a level that very few reach, Ok he couldn't compete with the pugalist specialists but he was very good, and had the hardest punch for his weight.
Also, for that barrera fight, as he was coming to the ring (on that floating thingy ) someone threw beer on him, wetting his gloves..thats why he decided not to vault the ropes as he usually does. (remember he rubbed his hands against the rope for a bit) I reckon his whole mindset was thrown before that fight even started..
