BTW SNAFU peeps - we've started another vote cos the first two contradicted themselves re map/xpak order etc..
Still waiting on an AF release date and patch v1.3 too - TBC.
BF2 SF tonight - night maps + Iron Gator at the end of the rotation.

PS guys - all you AMD X2 owners - try the following to see if it helps fix your connection issues, seems to have helped me:
- launch bf2.exe
- once at the login screen, ALT+TAB to drop back to the WinXP desktop
- Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up the process list, make sure you are on the 'Processes' tab, sort by process name.
- right click on the 'BF2.exe' process, select 'Set Affinity'.
- in the window that pops up, unselect one of the CPU cores, and click OK
- The use 'File -> Exit' to close task manager
- then click on the BF2 icon on the task bar to get back into BF2
Basically forces BF2 to run on one core of your CPU.
May or may not help - but my seems to be better for it.

It was strange battlefield lost connection then all Icould do was use task manager to get out of it, so I thought i'd install updates and re-boot

Best SNAFU turnout I've seen for a while, usually once there are 10 or 12 people on it tends to attract non-SNAFU and the server fills. Not last night though and at about 2330, everyone seemed to just vanish, which was a shame.
I was on and off a couple of times trying to sort something out, which was very frustrating. Will try again on Thursday...

Good laff tonight, even with the changes by the patch.
Will be on later in the week - assuming work allows.

Well, I have to admit I was dead impressed with blowing you out the sky with my tank ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Virtually the first thing I heard was someone complain that they'd died by having a car drop on 'em!
X-Fi... how can I sneak that past Lisa... hmmm....

You have to patient mate - my ADSL Max connection took almost 3 weeks to settle down. I played BF2 for the first time since Apr 20th last night and I was getting reasonable response times at long last

Just get the extreme music one and save some cash. Apparently the chip is the same you just get a remote and drive bay thing with the fatality one. I got the cheap one and the sound is amazing

I've got the fatal1ty, but Mortuum has the eXtreme version, neither sound or seem to perform differently under BF2 - go for the eXtreme and save the £s.
Dunno about the throttling - but benchmark wise, we get the same sort of results and have the same systems bar the X-Fi versions.
