I think it has potential - but every time I've played it, its been very one sided, largely due to player skill levels. Which has spoilt the experience.

And another contributing factor was the stress it seems to put on people's PCs... although not sure thats valid now due to the agressive upgrade route a lot of the clan have taken

Probably run the complete map rotation one night soon thou. Just not tonight.

I had some shockingly bad rounds so ducked out, the girlfriend kept laughing at my tutting and sighing as I kept dying time after time

I played early in the evening but didn't get chance to play on the SNAFU Server... joined in a 16 player game and learned how intense these games can be!

I *think* I earned a couple of golds and at least 3 bronze medals in the death-fest I got involved in! Excellent fun even after I got moved over to the crap side that kept losing

Yep, didnt make it onto the SNAFU server last nite - SF just winds me up and I can't find the fun in it - so rather than poo-poo it for others I went off and managed to pick up my final "basic" badge on an AC server. Very good fun.

Am looking forward to the Sunday nite maps.

I did put a sort of "vote" for the default game flavour for Thursday whereby if you wanted the default to be AC/EF or Bf2 vanilla and only by a majority of people asking during the day would it go SF. But not too many votes yet.

Anyhow - sunday. 'AVE IT!

Oh yeah basic badges.... I need my basic engineer and basic plane

I don't seem to be able to get 5 repair points for some reason - do you have to be in a vehicle to get these?

As to flying for 10 mins... how the heck am I ever going to achieve this????

Basic engineer can be quite easy and it can be really difficult. I found it easier looking after the commander assets mainly because they don't move, are quick to repair and generally you are out of the "heat" so you do not get a vehicle half repaired and then get capped. Once you have your basic, you can either get back into the action as an engineer and repair some vehicles and go for vet or hang around and repair the assets.

Repairing the assets obviously only works if you have spec-ops guys blowing them up so its not possible in every round. I managed 4 kills whilst I was repairing the assets as well, god damn spec ops

Forgot to mention - if anyone is looking to buy BF2 keep an eye out for the 'deluxe' version of the retail package, it includes BF2 and BF2 special forces

So you only get the repair point for FULLY repairing something? Nuts that's where I went wrong... thanks for that!

It pops up on the screen when you have fully repaired something. Just keep repairing until it does.

what a PITA!

A lot of you ADSL max guys are getting issues.

Hmm.. I've been holding off asking NTL about the 4Mb 'free' upgrade because I really can't afford not having a working internet connection for any amount of time currently (reminder to self to ask work for business line asap!)...

Well, this is the on-call start to Sunday *sigh*
I hope to be on tonight assuming it doesn't continue this way....

there were all sorts of speed issues last night.. I struggled to get a decent score at all, and there were two clan guys just romping away... I actually saw a tank shell hit the car one of them was driving and him keep going! As said last night, there was something really odd going on with the sync'ing of the game... ne' mind we had a laugh

Latency due to high pings will cause that - and the two in question had pings of about 130... we've had to increase it to 150 to reduce ping-kicks that SNAFU members where getting.

Last night I discovered the joy of playing an engineer

AT mines really are a bitch ain't they? I was laying the damn' things everywhere and the number of times I got a 'defended flag' message pop up at some random time was getting stupid.

Still didn't get my repair badge tho'. That is one hard one to get! (next time I'll camp the home base)

Oh, and has anyone seen the bug when you join a game and your stats are apparently completely lost?

I signed onto one game and I was back to a zero score! Scared the heck out of me until I signed into another Server and the stats were back. I guess this explains why I've seen some apparent new players getting REALLY high scores in some games...
