A really good Clash tribute would be good, one that covers everything from the early stuff to the later songs, and the more offbeat stuff.
Saw Joes Strummer when he played in Cardiff ( and had backstage passes ) and 75% of the set was old clash songs and he did loads of the less common ones - even though the band were younger and Joe was a bit fat, was still a top show.

Rush - but it may be difficult to find someone who can sing like Geddy Lee or play drums like Peart. There's a tribute band called YYZ but they don't tour that much.
Or how about The Who

I've seen YYZ a few times and thought they were very good although strangely a 5-pce.....!
I think it's pretty much decided on a Def Leppard tribute......advert going in the paper tomorrow for guitarist and lead singer.
Ummmmmm........just gotta think of a name, kinda liked Pyromania but that's being done in the states....pretty impressive website too, probably settle on something like " Blind Tiger" or somat daft......
Thanx for all your input people.

and asked mysefl why Paul Weller doesn't reform for a final tour!!
a few around admittedly... but a good AC/DC tribute always goes down a treat
PS I know the spitting image of Sting (plays guitar and sings) if it's a Police tribute band you are after ... if not he's thinking of going out and doing a one man show as Stung ...but he reckons the Police have a much catchier back catalogue for these purposes
