He'll be 70 at the next election and I honestly dont think the country would vote for someone at that age. We (the country) need a young conservative leader who is a viable long term alternative to tb. ken Clarke's time has gone.

We need someone with Clarke's experience, Hague's oral skills(!), Cameron's looks, Davis's background ( ie council flat, single mother) and Fox's right of centre stance.
I fear that though Cameron may attract votes he will be another Tony Blair ie obsessed with style over substance.
Lets just hope we have a leader everybody can unite behind and stop NL from sending this country to the dogs

I think people are sick of wishy-washy touchy-feely talk from politicians, they just want to hear it straight. It's probably why a lot of people have given up on politics altogether. Clarke is the only one who can speak in plain simple terms that people understand

Clark is to old and the press will just slaughter him for his link to the last Tory Government. I know people who voted Labour at the last election with the justification that the Tories would bring the poll tax back. Memories are long and a lot of voters are convinced that Gordon created the economic miracle!
Cameron is to young and like Blair to slippery from what i have seen. if he turns out to actually have conviction rather than just spin then to elect him now would be to waste him before his time like they did with Hague.
DD was to "Grey" no inspiration. Shame on paper has many good points.
Liam is now my Favourite of the lot and has had a life outside Westminster! He has seen a bit more of life. He also has policies he believes in for the right reasons not just because they will spin well.
Rifkin to upper class. he is clever but not TV friendly
Shame Hague is out of the picture i think he has matured in to a good leadership prospect. But then again there was this thing a while ago in the papers saying will the public elect a bald man as PM?
