T-cut is fine if you use it properly. Apply using a terry towel or microfibre cloth and polish lightly.
The red one is the original, and the blue is the metallic variant.
I have used T-cut for years on old and new cars with excellent results (never damaged paint or lacquer by using it), all after a recommendation from a friend who's run his own repair/spray shop for years.
Once the marks are removed, use your favourite polish/ wax to seal the paint again.
