Yes some of the ideas quoted ie named drivers bitare good , but until the fine for driving uninsured (and no MOT / unroadworthy etc) is actually a detterant, and not 1/2 or 3/4 less than the actual cost of annual insurance, its honestly a waste of time and resources.

Does this have any affect on named drivers?
Both my wife and I have FC insurance and are named drivers on each other's policies.....
Does this affect the use of the other person's car?
I'll be calling the brokers on Monday (countryside-town, not open at weekend!!

In the UK, this data is being collected via the insurance industry onto the Motor Insurers’ Database (MID).
Do I need to notify you of any vehicles I get?
To comply with the law, you must notify us of any vehicle in your custody or control which are taxed and on the public highway for longer than 14 days. Should you have a vehicle for less than 14 days, you need not notify us. If you are at all doubtful as to whether you should notify us, you should notify us.
